I’ve stayed here multiple times now and in the past it has been fine, very comfortable and good staff / service.
This time however, I brought my grandma with me who can panic in closed spaces. I didn’t think this would be a concern as I’ve had comfortable stays here in the past, but unfortunately at around 4/5am she was unable to stay in the room any longer, and needed fresh air / to be outdoors. She has mobility issues and when we got downstairs she was breathless and I needed to get her water but there was nobody at the front desk or the bar. I had to leave her standing in the cold outside (as she was too anxious to be indoors at this point) while I noticed the cleaner who went to get the night manager. I was visibly panicked, but he made me feel like an inconvenience. He was not concerned or phased at all when I explained I’d left her outside while trying to get hold of water. I even had to find a chair (from the outdoor seating area) to put it out for her to sit on while she calmed down. I just felt or even expected that he would be more helpful. He gave me the water and then disappeared again.
Normally you’d have water dispensers in the reception area, but you didn’t, if you had I wouldn’t have had to bother him.
I brought her back in after a while and we sat in the lobby area, the cleaner was hoovering up at the time. She felt she needed to be in a space where she could easily access outside, anyway we had no choice but to check out and drive home.
