Whoever owns the property needs to look seriously at what they are doing, everything is below standard but could be very good if they put some effort into it. The rooms need updated, the food is below standard and the general appearance of the hotel needs work. The one positive the staff were very nice.
The hotel is in such a beautiful setting! It was lovely to wake up and see the rolling hills of the Peak District in the morning. The staff were lovely and the breakfast in the morning was great. However, the high chair we were given for our little one at breakfast could have done with a wipe over. The lift wasn’t working during our stay which made things tricky with the car seat but it didn’t ruin the stay. Overall, a lovely stay and would highly recommend!
great staff really helpful. only one gripe was the bar was a bit exspensive £7.80 a pint.

Room and overall hotel was pretty nice, waited a long time for dinner, so would probably skip that if I stayed again, which given the pricing I probably would
Good location, nice area, staff are great. Room was a little small and quite dated needs renovating. However I had a comfortable nights sleep.

Good location and entrance and grounds impressive
Room was very cold on arrival We used the supplementary heater but it took a long time to warm the room
Towel rail not working (room 57 )
No view from this room
Woken by noisy people at 2.30!( not the hotels fault)
Tea and biscuits in room good
No hanging space in room ( coat hooks) ok for us - only staying one night - but difficult if staying for a few days
Did not eat at hotel - we were visiting relatives
Will probably stay again for short visits
Location great , staff lovely apart from one who lived in staff area . Playing music and making noise at 1:30 am on our 2nd night 🙄 still waiting for manager to contact me about it . Staff on site were very good at helping to resolve the issue. But we paid for a suite to relax and enjoy but were unable to do this at night.
On the first night we had to move to another room as there was a Christmas party on down below our room , again staff on site were apologetic as they said we should have been warned when we booked .
