Good location, but seedy after dark. Others from Great American Stamp Show were staying there. Facilities adequate but not like larger chain hotels. Breakfast sparse. Staff friendly and efficient.

I traveled all the way from Philadelphia for a family event and in least them 20mins my license plate was stolen off my vehicle from this Hotel’s Parking Garage. The staff was so nasty and rude. They didn’t even want to look at the cameras or assist me with the situation so I had to call the police and make a report. I didn’t stay the night there because I left unsafe and I’m 6months pregnant yet they refused to give me a refund. Police informed me later in the next morning that a guest from this same hotel had stolen my license plate. I don’t understand how a hotel can let something like this happen and not care about the safety of their customers or even care enough to accommodate them for the trouble caused by their negligence. Not to mention the rooms are dirty and not at all what they advertise. I can only imagine if I didn’t go check on my car . It probably would’ve been stolen as well and I will be pregnant and stuck 4hrs away from home .

A cheap price, when checked in I went to my room to discover water in the bath tub. Gross, I complained and was assigned a new room. Only stayed 1 night. Next time in Hartford I will be willing to pay for a larger hotel. Their garage is underground, but very tight. Scratched my car on a concrete post.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, was charged for a stay even though it was supposed to be paid at check in and I never checked in then refused to refund my money even though they should have never charged me Expedia help wasn't worth a crap either, just blamed it on the hotel and said they cant refund only the hotel can but they "cant get in touch" with a manager

West Indian Day Parade 2024
It was sufficient for what was needed. Quick check in. There is a parking fee $15 a night which sucks but that’s the case. Enjoyed the position to the park for the festivities since I was in the parade.

It’s a decent hotel
The stay was alright. The rooms need a little more cleaning especially with the brown sheets, there was some white stains that looked disgusting and the walls peeled a bit. After that my family and I slept comfortably and had a neat breakfast and the staff was sweet.

The property felt unsafe, there were some definite shady, looking characters around the front door and in the lobby, I put a chair under my door at night. The sheets have holes in them. The towels were threadbare. I was glad I was only there for one night.

The hotel is very nice clean,hospitable,helpful,front desk person kind lovely....,but above me an indian family made lots of nose all night stumping moving things i complain to desk he did go up stairs to take care of the matter but the family continued to make stumping sounds i did not get sleep i told the desk again he said that the family did admitt to making all of the noise ..i really feel i should have gotten a discount or some refund back , can someone call me back about this matter please lucy -860-215-7849

The staff was very good from front desk to maid service. Everyone was nice and helpful. The location was great. The view was fabulous. The outside was sketchy between the bus stop and train station. The lobby seemed to attract people off the street. The towels and bedding were "hostel" quality. My bath towel was see through and my sheet had a hole in it.

We only booked one night. The front desk clerk James was nice and helpful, the room was clean and the breakfast was good. Our issue were the people wandering around outside were very sketchy. The parking lot they use is not free, please pay attention when signing up. Set it for 1 day or you'll be charged double. The lot it is open so people would be in their cars doing "stuff" and pedestrians walking in and out the area.

Very disgusted and uncomfortable stay!!!
Upon arrival at The Capital Ascend hotel there was a guy putting violation tickets on cars in the hotel parking lot.. apparently the parking for hotel is underground and you have to pay $15/day ( I mean literally ninja turtles underground parking)I entered hotel and wasn’t even greeted, the girl at the desk just stared at me and I said I needed to check in. then I gotta pay an extra deposit fee on top of this already being prepaid online.I ask about the XL theater and she tells me she doesn’t know where anything is because she’s not from there.I would assume that you would know of places in the area that draw in customers,but whatever . the hotel is a half hour walk away from our event,ended up having to pay even more for a lyft to get me and my sister to the XL theater for our concert.getting to the room, the door of the room looks battered, like someone at some point might’ve tried to knock it down. entering the room smelled like a gym locker room and air freshener was sprayed to cover up the smell. The bathroom tiles had mold growing on them, and there was a hair on the toilet seat. I immediately contacted Hotels.com ,they claimed they were so sorry for the inconvenience.had to check out early because couldn’t use moldy bathroom shower! Didn’t get the breakfast because nobody told us where to go!! I deserve a refund!! But hotels.com didn’t even give me a partial refund.!!Not booking with hotels.com again!!

The people at the capital hotel are nice and friendly. My stay was pleasant. The hotel room that I had was cleaned. If I ever go to Hartford CT again. I would stay at the capital hotel.
