I never knew I needed a heated bathroom seat with bidet/dryer, but now I’m buying one lol! No seriously, this was a surprise bonus to our lovely oceanfront room. I didn’t realize they also own The Twin Fin (which I’ve stayed at 3 times). Alohilani is a newer upgrade centrally located on Waikiki Beach next to my favorite place for breakfast, Eggs n things, right across from the Duke statue, a short walk to The Marketplace which has a great variety of foods. This hotel has fast, friendly service. Fast checkin, accommodating housekeeping, their elevators are much faster than Twin Fin, as well as their valet. I’ll stay here again. Very clean and even has an ABC store attached…very convenient!

Loved the location, beach across the street, tons of shopping nearby. We did not have much interaction with staff, as we did not spend too much time at the hotel. Only complaint, the two times that we spent at the hotel pool and hot tub, the kids seemed out of control. Splashing and running around both in the pool and hot tub. Not ideal for drinks.

The staff (JANE) was friendly and very accommodating. The property was visually appealing. However, the carpet in the hallways should be replaced; the light cream original color is not idea for high traffic areas. Otherwise, the hotel was very clean.

I was excited to stay at a 5-star hotel in Waikiki. We'd stayed at 3 and 4 star ones before and my general consensus is that hotels in Waikiki are very old and most of them are dank and you can smell the moisture in the air, especially when the rooms are carpeted. Alohilani was great upon arrival. It seemed to be less dank than others. A few cons: - Beds were EXTREMELY soft. I woke up every morning with a headache and a sore neck. - One morning we found a small dead cockroach in our bathroom. - The shower had a rain showerhead. While this is generally enjoyable, I felt like there wasn't enough water pressure especially for people with thick hair that need to wash out shampoo thoroughly. - The pool doesn't get direct sunlight past noon. If you were planning to swim in the afternoon, it's on the colder side. - I'm sure this was in the fine print, but upon check-out they charged me a $5 USD "tree fee" and when I asked about it, they took it off. ALWAYS get a print-out of your folio to double-check for this stuff. The pros: - Staff were very nice. - Pool and hot tub area was generally enjoyable with towels, sunscreen, and after-sun lotion available. - The daily complimentary activities were a great added touch although we didn't participate in any. We did see the aqua zumba taking place and the instructor was enthusiastic.
