The chalet was a great spot for us to stopover on our journey on the Cabot Trail. We had all of the basics and the beach access was a lovely surprise. One thing that would have been great was to have access to a fire pit for a campfire. Otherwise, everything was great.

Absolute fantastic stay last night! Im here visiting from Edmonton and staying with my friend who cleans houses and WOO we were blown away how clean it is! What a cute cozy comfortable cottage. Had red some previous comments about lack of ac, but we stayed in the motel and had an ac unit with a fan and it was nice and cool. Will definitely stay here again!!

The cleaning staff were excellent here and very good with communication. The only downfall I would say is that the motel side of things does not have air conditioning so it was very hot and hard to sleep. That being said, the cleaning staff got us an extra fan which did help.

Very quaint and quiet chalets. Our chalet was rustic on the outside but remodelled on the inside. We only stayed one night but enjoyed it.

Beautiful beach
The chalet was not quite what I expected from the online photos. Ours was not quite as new and had a faint odor of urine. I am thinking maybe a dog peed inside at some point and it’s probably hard to get the smell out. I also thought our second bedroom was going to have two twin beds, but it was just a double. My daughters were disappointed because they were looking forward to having their own beds. The beach is wonderful although you do have to cross a busy street to get to the path leading to the beach.

The chalet was very roomy which included a large deck. A quick walk to the beach across the street and a place to eat close by. Wonderful!

No air conditioning!!! I thought we were reserved for a chalet. But it was not a stand alone. It appeared the stand alone chalets Did have AC. It was 36 degrees outside and couldn’t get the ‘chalet’ in the motel section temp down below 28 so couldn’t stay very long inside despite open windows and door. Better for Fall travel not in the heat of the summer. Called the number to ask on a different matter between the hours stated and NO ONE returned our call. We felt stranded as they have no reception desk at any time. Scary feeling in a strange land. Bathroom was clean and good size. Across the highway from the excellent walkable beach but NOT TO SWIM??!! There was no one in the water?! A drop off a few feet in and couldn’t see the bottom due to heavy wave action.

Quiet surroundings and a short walk to the beach. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The suite was comfortable; my only complaint is that it was dark, but I should have expected that since it is a log house.

Very disappointed with the overall experience. It was not clear the fact that the chalet we stayed didn’t have AC. To add to that inconvenience, only one small fan in the bedroom. Property was rundown-unattended. No contact person in the office.

Lessons to be learned by Ingonish Chalets
The accommodation in terms of comfort and cleanliness was fair. The communication was below terrible. Despite assurances that we would know the room allocation the previous day this didnot happen. No one to answer the phone just left messages. No check-in service and no information about the booking or access to the room. We arrived early and secure accommodation as per booking or seek alternative accommodation in the area. Another party managed to speak with someone and they brought keys over from another location. This spoilt our plans for the day. In practice the site office is never open!!!!!!

Perfect location in Igonish with a private access to a beautiful beach. Minutes from multiple hikes throughout the highlands national park. I highly recommend middle head.
