I’ll say the beds and pillows were comfortable. The desk clerk could not speak English. The room was quite small but the TV and fridge worked. We were there three nights and the room did not get cleaned or beds made. The owner handed us a bag with toilet paper, extra coffee, soap and shampoo. Oh and the place reeked of cigarette smoke and air conditioner fan was super noisy. Over priced for what was a one star hotel.
Disgusting place - Just don't stay here. Spend the extra few dollars for a clean place. The provided dishes were left dirty and uncleaned from previous tenants. The AC unit did not work. The carpet was stained and dirty. The windows didn't lock. I attempted to explain this to the owner, but the language barrier was too big and he just kept smiling and laughing and offered me a bigger room at a discount the next time I stayed there - NEVER! If you can't find a place in Merritt make the trip to Sicamous or Kamloops - Just do not stay here!
The place was disgusting stunk, No manager onsite and left with a wife maybe that didnt speak english, so we waited in our car for 45minutes to get a room that sub par and no lock on the door and oh the door was ajar before we even went in.
would not reccomend to anyone! How they passed the accreditation is beyond me.
The room smelled like it had been smoked in days previous to my check-in. I dropped a few things in the room after check-in, then went to get some dinner.. upon my return I realized (again) how bad the room smelled of smoke.
I then packed up my few items and dropped off the key and left the motel. This place was so gross of smoke smell and was dirty on the light switches and high touch places I could not stay and left and booked another hotel

Staff was pleasant, room was outdated but very clean
Could've been a lot nicer if the room was cooler (air conditioner did not cool). There was food left in the cupboards and a fridge door that didn't always close. A closer attention paid to cleanliness would've been nice.
Very nice and accommodating owners! Room was nice, with controllable AC, clean and comes with a kitchen too! Definitely would stay again.

Clean stay on a budget.
The motel is older but clean and comfortable. A good choice to stay on a budget. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I was put into a suite which had kind of a cramped layout but was alright with me and had a decent shower and most everything you would expect at a hotel.
Merrit can be a hot town and the AC in this room was not cooling the room and they look to be long overdue for replacement. I don't sleep well in such a hot room.
The following day I stayed in a different town with a newer AC and it was a HUGE difference! It quickly cooled the room down even on a hot day. I can't speak for all the other rooms but come on Ranchland Motel, start to re and re some/all of those old ACs that are just blowing the outside air into the room!

Centrally located, fully equipped kitchen, AC was a bit small for very hot day/night
I stepped on a piece of broken glass that I found under the side of the bed and ended on stepping on it and had to leave so quickly that morning to have my foot taken care of at the hospital, ( thank god no stitches)
Other then that there were pieces of glass chips all over the carpet that I had thought I got the night before in which I never did get.
the hotel is in pretty rough rough condition, the carpet had a few 'soft spots in it and I was there for a week and my room was never cleaned once. Its an affordable place, but it's affordable for a reason or two. Oh ya, the room smelled like old cigarettes.
