2/10 Terrible

Disappointed
We have stayed at every property in the village at River Run more than 25 times in the last 8 years (several booked through Summit Cove - no issues with them at all this trip) and this was by far the worst experience we’ve had. The room itself was okay but the location of the room and Silver Mill property were an ABSOLUTE disaster.
1. Noisiest room in the village. Right outside the room is the heating and water equipment for the whole building. We listened to CONSTANT whirring and humming from the equipment-so intense that it makes the heating floor vents rattle continuously, so loud and annoying that we all had to sleep with headphones in and keep music loud while hanging out in the room playing cards/games. It will take weeks to get the repetitive whirring noises out of my head.
2. Between the busses, vehicles and service equipment right outside the room one would swear you were sleeping at a bus stop outside Union Station.
3. BOTH elevators were out of service the first half of the trip and only one was semi-functional the second half. Makes it tough to get luggage carts up to rooms so people were forced to carry suitcases, gear and groceries up 7-10 flights of stairs. The traffic jams in the stairwells were I70-esque on a holiday weekend. I’m not sore from skiing over 100,000 feet this week but I’m having recurring night terrors about climbing stairs.
4. The hot tubs were apparently filled with Dawn dishwashing liquid every morning based on the bubble volume and were just plain nasty. If you wanted a pool towel for the hot tub or sauna, better grab one before 2pm bc after that the only towel available would have to come from the mountainous “used towel” bin.
5. The microwave vent fan in the room was so loud that I forced my boys to wear ear plugs while cooking to prevent permanent hearing loss.
6. If the whirring, busses, trucks and vent fan were all going at once, we would have had a better chance of hearing each other speak standing in front of a running 737 jet engine.
7. Put some decent pillows and blankets in the room for the pull out. I travel 200 days/year and I’ve never been in a hotel room that didn’t have 4 pillows in normal pillow cases ever on a king bed. This room had two.
I could keep going but I think point made. This experience won’t deter us from staying in the village or renting from Summit Cove again but there is zero chance I will ever rent at Silver Mill again.
