The best thing about the Mild Bungalow is its location. It's not in the jam-packed Ao Nang tourist center, but it's close by so walking there to catch a long boat to Railay Beach was about a 20 minute walk. It's about 15 minutes to walk to catch the ferry to Ko Lanta. There are plenty of street cafes and a couple of large restaurants within 10 minutes.
As for the room, my wife liked more than I did. The door lock/key did not work well; I felt like I was breaking in every time I opened the door. 30 seconds or more to unlock a door is an eternity. The room safe did not work per the instructions so testing it got it locked but it would not open. I told the front desk woman about the situation and she knew the instructions were wrong and said they would open the safe but never did. My wife also liked the swimming pool.
The wi-fi was pretty flaky. There were three or four routers with the same password, two of which my phone could see and, with some difficulty, connect to. But the connection wouldn't last, sometimes disappearing for hours.
While I'm not a big fan of paving over the world, Mild Bungalow could use a bit more pavement. We had nightly or afternoon showers that turned the access to the hotel into a mud path.
