....... you'll love this place! Despite being sent instructions, to locate we found the house difficult to locate once we came out of the subway. Maybe our fault, but the details could be a little clearer. However, a friendly young man went out of his way to guide us. Typical Japanese friendliness that we found throughout our stay in Japan. We were also emailed a letter in Japanese to direct taxi drivers - a nice touch!
However, that's a minor point. The manager, Yumi, was waiting in the street, a little concerned that we were later than expected. She took great trouble in explaining how the house worked and left us to enjoy it - with contact available by mobile phone left in the kitchen.
The accommodation is a machiya with tatami, futons and Japanese style. The beds were on the floor, so hard but comfortable with warm duvets. The bathroom was a shower and deep bath, with good flow and stability of heat. A separate washbasin and toilet, all divided with wood and paper screens.
The living room had a low table with four low chairs. For westerners, these may provide a problem, but worth trying. There is nowhere to relax - we have suggested bean bags which could be kept in a cupboard until need, so as not to spoil the visual appearance of a delightful room.
A small kitchen with fridge/freezer, kettle and microwave was fine.
Wi-Fi was free and had a strong and stable signal.
Location is excellent with closeby useful bus routes and subway station.
