We really enjoyed our stay here. It was between the 2 more popular tourist areas of Kyoto and Shijo station but walkable to either areas and also right on the train line (few mins walk up exit 3). There were plenty of food places around, a pharmacy and supermarket across the road and 7-11 next door. The hotel provided an area for eating downstairs from 2pm-11pm with free drinks from the machine, and staff went out of their way to assist with luggage transport and sorting anything wrong in the room. Definitely somewhere I would stay again.

Close to the Gion metro but closest exit no elevator access and need to walk a little more; it’s quiet neighborhood and u can walk through famous temple nearby during daytime and most store there not open till 9am; nice welcome beverage from 2pm-11pm; has public bath but small one

The public bath was a real bonus. Next hotel I book in Japan will have to have a public bath or be within walking distance of a sento. The staff was excellent - I needed help filling out the luggage transfer form as it is entirely in Japanese. Young lady at front desk went out of her way to help me.

I had a perfect one week stay at Hotel Campana! The hotel is within a 20 minute walking distance to Kyoto Station and a 20 minute walking distance to Nishiki Market. The daily breakfast was excellent with both Japanese and traditional American fare. Mostly, I loved the staff members who were always so kind and accommodating. This is now my hotel of choice in Kyoto, and I look forward to going back again next year!
