We stayed at Kyoto Village for 3 nights. The service desk was nice and helpful with checking in. We additionally changed our breakfast orders and sent luggage to our next hotel, which the concierges were happy to help with. The Japanese-styled room we booked was advertised to fit five people. This would be tight but for us two it was definitely plenty of space, and would comfortably fit a third. The room was clean and included a microwave, fridge, coffee machine and tea area with complementary matcha tea. Additionally we were provided with Japanese-style pyjamas, slippers, overcoat and towels. We did not have time to try out the Japanese bath. We also were able to wash our clothes with a laundry machine that takes either coins or also works with Japanese travel cards. Two small clothes airers are available inside the room. Breakfast is served in the bedrooms. Guests can chose from 3 bento-style options that are mostly cold but taste good. There might be better breakfasts but it is good if you want to start your days early without thinking about breakfast. When we booked the hotel, we were offered the room at a discount of roughly 50%. We paid around £160 per night in November. For this price, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel. However, I would not have thought it value for money if we paid the full price.

Overall a great property. We loved the location close to the metro and the onsite onsen. We stayed in the traditional Japanese room which was a lovely experience. The room showed its age in a few places and could use a bit of attention. The futons were quite a bit thinner than expected and not very comfortable. Would stay again as long as it’s a short stay.

The hotel staff were all very kind and nice. The staff just absolutely lovely. The location was great as it’s only 1-2 mins walk to Omiya station which is very convenient if you visiting a lot of the places in Osaka. However, the decorations is very outdated and the bathroom is tiny I am only 44 KG and find it hard to move around in the bathroom. The room was not very clean but the price was super cheap. The futons and pillows are super comfortable. It seems like it sitting next to a funeral place, but I am ok with it.

It was fun to have a Japanese style room for once. Also they had free ice cream in a cooler near the elevator. An older property but kept up well. A nice place relatively close to Nijo Castle but be ready with the directions in Japanese if possible.

Good hotel, but room was too small for 4 people
Overall, this is a great hotel in a decent location in Kyoto. It's two stops from the main station, or about a 20 min walk, with loads of convenience stores around. Just a 2 min walk from the nearest station which was great. We were 4 people in one of the Japanese style rooms. The room itself was good but too small for 4 people really. That was the only downside, I would just do normal or multiple rooms if there's a group.

The hotel staff is extremely kind and welcoming. The place is super clean and the room is spacious given that the bedding can be folded and tucked away in a closet. Traditional japanese breakfast is offered in a bento box delivered into your room. There is a train station and bus stop within 250 meters with tons of options to explore Kyoto.
