Natural highlights

In case you hadn’t already guessed, the star attraction here is Wentworth Falls! Not the town, but the falls where Jamison Creek spectacularly cascades down the rocky escarpment nearly 300m to the bottom and into the Valley of the Waters. Don’t miss the track to Princes Lookout, where you can catch the amazeballs sight! Then venture to one of the other local lookouts (there are a few!), like Queen Victoria Lookout, Empress Lookout or Lyrebird Lookout for another view down the Valley of the Waters.

Walk the walk

The best way to experience all this super-amazing natural scenery, though, is to earn it! You’d be crazy not to don your hiking boots for a piece of (or a pic of) the Blue Mountains in all its glory. Trust us when we say you should totes check out the National Pass walking trail – it’s hands down one of Australia’s best! You won’t believe the views as you follow the track built literally into the side of the cliffs overlooking the valley, past waterfalls, historic remnants, lookouts and through the majestic mountain scenes. The Charles Darwin Walk is also lovely, following Jamison Creek to just above the fall, as is the walk through the Valley of the Waters, which winds past several waterfalls and is super-amazing in the early hours of the day when the mist makes it all so mystical! All over the Blue Mountains, there are stacks more to tackle.

Town sights

You can’t leave town without wandering around the local streets – there are some sweet historic buildings still standing, as well some other cool local sights. If you like stuff that’s pretty, then be sure to head to the 17 inspiring acres of Wild Valley Art Park, a self-sufficient eco arts centre. Falls Gallery is also brilliant, showing off the works of many emerging and established artists. And for a chilled out picnic in town with a different kind of view, you just have to check out Wentworth Falls Lake on Sinclair Crescent.

Getting there

Wentworth Falls’ closest neighbours are Blue Mountains hotspots like Katoomba, home to the famous Three Sisters, Leura and Blackheath, which are all within 20 minutes’ drive. Penrith is 45 minutes away and the Sydney centre about an hour-and-a-half, so if you need a flight too, we’ve got tonnes of flights to Sydney.
