Amazing staff team. Everyone goes the extra mile to help you, from the lovely reception team to the housekeepers. However, as other reviews suggest, this hotel is in dire need of refurbishment and this great team are let down by the state of the hotel rooms. Rooms are old and outdated. Not maintained very well - carpets have stains, furniture stains, chipped paint, scratches from luggage on the walls, lamps not working, no air conditioning, old heating system, no fridge, shower is ancient and awful pressure. Shower head was so old and crusty. The beds are comfy though! The housekeepers do what they can to keep the rooms clean, but the disrepair make them look so unappealing. This is not your normal Hilton standard hotel. Also - the sound proofing is awful. Really noisy at night and in the mornings, doors slamming, talking, shouting, drunks etc. Was hard to contact reception in the early hours of the morning as they were completing night tasks, calls went unanswered. I did have to ask for a late checkout because of the noise from a wedding keeping me awake with little sleep. If this was a business trip, I’d not have been pleased. The rooms are so warm in the summer with no AC. A fan wasn’t available in my room but staff brought one as soon as they could. It didn’t do much so I struggled to sleep. I was disappointed after paying £81 a night, the premier inn nearby is half the cost and much better so I feel ripped off. Wouldn’t consider this a Hilton.
