The hotel is very nicely located at the end of the Venice Broadwalk, right at the border to Santa Monica. If you are interested in the art and beach live of the area you are absolutely in the right spot. Skating and surfing is also very easy here.
If you are traveling with the family, stay away. Venice is horribly overcrowded with homeless and a lot of them are heavily drug or alcohol addicted. I even saw a guy with a machete at the beach at 7 am. During the daytime it is safe but still there are many people around which are not suitable for kids.
It is very loud at the weekends, party is all around until about 1 am. So you need to be prepared for this.
Since corona the hotel has suspended room service, so if you are staying longer you need to clean your room yourself. Due to the nearby beach be prepared for lots of fine grained sand in your room. Other than that, the rooms are simple but nice.
One oddity during my stay was that I ordered uber eats to my room, it worked well nearly at all days until Friday. The woman at the counter wasn't allowing my uber delivery to the room for whatever reasons. She claimed it was an order from management and it was held up for security reasons. No idea what the supposed security risk of a uber eats delivery is but I actually requested this person to come up to my room. Pretty weird.
