It sits 350 kilometres to the north of Athens, the capital of Greece.

Does chilling out on the shore sound enticing? Plan an excursion to Paradise Beach or Aliki Beach.

Feel like some time in the natural world? Grab your car keys and hightail it to Maronia Cave, 45 kilometres away from Mandra. Alternatively, enjoy some fresh air at Tsal Mountain, 25 kilometres away.

Are you a serious sports buff? Then you'll want to look into the event schedule at Sports Center Skoda Xanthi, located 18 kilometres to the north in Xanthi.

Fans of winter sports will love staying in Mandra, as it gives access to Pamporovo Ski Resort and Chepelare Ski Resort. Remember to pack your warmest gear! These snowy wonderlands can get seriously cold.

Remember to visit other nearby sights, such as the Archaeological Museum of Avdera and the Vourvoukelis Estate. You will find them 5 kilometres north in Avdira.
