Shower water was not evacuating at move-in; they did fix problem when I reported). Sometimes there is no water and you need to wait to shower (at least 3 times in 7-day stay). They provide 1 tiny roll of toilet paper at a time and we had to buy our own just in case. They often forgot to replace dirty towels after removing them, and I had to call to request. Staff was pleasant and helpful. In general not terrible, but just average.

No water
We booked the presidential suite for two nights as a special treat and were looking forward to the jacuzzi bath and the spacious terrace. Sadly there was no water on the day of our arrival and this was eventually fixed late in the evening when a small amount of water began to come out of the taps. The next morning there was no water again. This was then fixed and I managed a shower with a slow trickle before the water gave out completely. The hotel moved us to a basic room on the first floor - no jacuzzi and no terrace, but at least we had water! Really disappointing especially as we had paid for the highest priced room.

I love Palace Hotel Maya
I spend 7 nights at Hotel Palacio Maya. I really liked to stayed in this hotel, the employees are very friendly and helpful. It's clean and the rooms are spacious. I didn't like the food of the buffet, but I liked the food a la carta. Estuve 7 noches en el hotel Palacio Maya. Los empleados en la recepción son muy amables y siempre estuvieron listos para ayudarnos, el hotel es muy limpio, y sus cuartos son muy espacios. Aunque en ciertas áreas huele un poco feo. No me gustó la comida del Buffet, pero si me gustó la comida que ordenamos a la carta. Gracias a todos sus empleados por su amabilidad y su ayuda. Con gusto lo recomiendo😍

Great for group or family
As a single traveler, it wasn't the right fit - but for a group or family, it would be fantastic. The property is beautiful; Cecil greets guests at the doors with a big smile; & the peacock & peahen were fun to flirt with. The only bar is in the pool area (mosquito hell for me). My room's AC did not work well and I had no hot water. They do not have washcloths or hair conditioner. As someone who likes to get out on foot, the location was not ideal for me, however if you have a car and plan to drive further afield during the day, this would be an ideal location.

Everything was good. I come to Merida about once a month for entertainment. And I will stay for one or two nights. I always liked this hotel, but it didn't have hot water. I like hot water for showering. So, now they have everything I want and the price is a great value. So, I will be visiting, regularly now.

Muy buen hotel, sólo que el frigobar no tiene el freezer para tener hielo y tienes que bajar al restaurante a comprar hielo...tienes una cocineta sin ningún artículo, limpiador, jabón para lavar las tazas o vasos que se pudieron utilizar. Por lo demás no me quejo. Volvería
