Planning on spending a fair whack of time hanging out in the downtown area? the Deer Park Hotel and Giritale Hotel are about as close as you can get to the action.

You may also like to try the Jetwing Vil Uyana, which is 20 kilometres away. Or maybe the Heritance Kandalama, just a distance of 30 kilometres from Minneriya. We'd also recommend the Sigiriya Village and the Cinnamon Lodge. The first is 20 kilometres away from the center, while the latter is 18 kilometres away.

Need more options? Hole up like a rockstar in Polonnaruwa (just try not to wreck the joint). Located 15 kilometres away and home to Tivanka Image House and the Gal Viharaya, it's sure to be an adventure to remember! Lovely hotel in a great location. Massive grounds overlooking the rock. Good cocktails. Good breakfast. Sadly didn't use the pool area due to the weather. 2 mins walk from plenty of restaurants/bars.
