I liked the poetic 'Harbour Lights' name and that the property was conveniently located close to the Nanimo Harbour as well as being directly on the Trans-Canada Hwy. It is conveniniently close to the down town as well as to the Petroglyphs Provincial park. Although the room was small and run down, the sheets, towels and rest room were clean and curtains were new. What I didn't like was that the facilities are worn and unattractive (e.g., the carpets are stained, the base board heating metal is bent, one of 4 light bulbs was burnt out in the washroom). The room had two double beds, a small table and chair, a mini fridge, micro-wave, coffee-maker with several coffee pods.) The Staff were business-like but had me pay BEFORE my stay (??) I guess that saved on having 24hr staff as, when I inquired the next day re: my early a.m. departure, they said that I could just drop the key in through the door slot, which worked out fine. They also ask you to take out your own garbage. The room was basic but functional. Thank you, Harbour Lights.
