Everything was great! The only thing we didn’t like was we were not notified that men require long pants and closed shoes in all the restaurants except the buffet. I did not see this anywhere in the website when I reviewed it before arriving either.

All staff were very friendly and accommodating. We went in December so it was quiet and no crowds, which was wonderful. And it was all adults only, so there was no kids running around, which is a plus!

Concierge service was typically rude and unhelpful when trying to solve any problem or even something simple as getting new beach towels. We used the same beach towels our entire stay, could not acquire new ones no matter what we did, it was rather displeasing and gross by the end of the trip. The food was far from satisfactory and took way too long to order anything at the dine in a la carte restaurants and the servers would limit your ordering. Portions were small and tried to be gourmet , but the food was usually cold by the time it came out. Ordering drinks was unpleasant as well. The servers would take forever to get anything let alone if you asked for anything other than tequila the servers were annoyed to have to go make a coffee or tea for my girlfriend. Beach area was small but nice to bask in the sun with plenty of shade if you need. Although the ocean bed was very rocky and uncomfortable and close to impossible to step foot out into the water for a swim. Would never stay here again, it's an overpriced and over rated resort.

Stayed for 5 night, I loved being in a Only Adult hotel for the quietness, minimalist facilities, very calm to be in a real noise free vacation, the food was great, even I’m not fan for the buffet, I can say this was one of the best I’m been with vegan options! The services was very good, the people service was great, the only comment I can express is the Concierge that was mediocre, when I request pool towels never came, they told me use the rooms towels, never again received it. My poor experience was the A/C that is controlled to 22c and NEVER sleep well, I told them 3 times and never help on this, I even sleep with no blankets because I felt warm. I could return this facility, but one of the main reason for vacation is to rest well, and no worries about feel bad when sleep, so I will not return because their people doesn’t want to help on this. I feel they don’t mind about the customer to have comfort on there…

Honest review from solo Canadian female traveller: Thank you for a great experience! Location (9/10) - shuttle to 5th Avenue Playa Del Carmen is $5 USD and only takes 20 minutes. - discounts for excursions if you walk up to the Best Day counter and book when you get to the resort. Do not book online on other sites as it will be more expensive. - very very large beach to easily walk to. Very relaxing. - Quite a bit of seaweed and few nice seashells, but that's ok Food (8/10) - good selection of different cuisines from Habachi grill to Italian - lobster pizza at the Italian restaurant is excellent - buffet is generous, and everyday the food is different - solid effort in preparing all of these different menus - unfortunately the rice and pasta taste like heavy butter. The food is made with an American diet in mind. Suggestion to add more seasoning, less butter, more olive oil. - Incredible Habachi Grill show and the rice was excellent, but miso soup was too salty and chicken was quite dry. - it would be great to have more authentic Mexican food. Cleanliness (7/10) - The facilities are clean most of the time. No outrageous offenses. - glasses in my room were not cleaned - cleaning supplies leaves not a great scent Safety (9/10) - I felt safe at the resort City (from solo female experience): 5/10 - recommend group excursions with Best Day. Those were fun and safe. - In the city, a lot of men catcall. Very uncomfortable experience. I would not go back to Cancun alone.

Ants, Broken Promises, and Disrespectful Staff – Avoid This Resort My recent stay at Platinum Princess Yucatan was a disaster. What should have been a relaxing vacation turned into a stressful experience due to severe health hazards, failed promises, and unprofessional staff. Ant Infestation Within an hour of arriving, our room was overrun by ants—on the sink, tables, and even in our luggage. Despite two calls, it took an hour for staff to arrive, only to dismiss the issue, claiming “they don’t bite.” We experienced itching and had to wait hours to switch rooms, missing dinner and planned activities. Failed Compensation The resort attempted to compensate us with: Hydrotherapy at the spa (a $30 service!!!), A canopy dinner reservation, Late checkout. Yet, there was no dinner reservation when we arrived—staff confirmed it was never made—and we were turned away after dismissive exchanges that felt disrespectful. On our final day, we were denied the promised late checkout and forced to rush out at the regular time. Health and Safety Negligence The ant infestation was a serious health concern, but the staff’s dismissive and careless response made it worse. Their unprofessional behavior, including laughter during serious matters, came across as both insulting and insensitive. Final Thoughts This resort failed on every level: cleanliness, professionalism, and basic hospitality. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Future guests, beware.
