We stayed at Secrets Maroma for 7 nights and to say we had a great time is an understatement! We did stay in the Perferred Club Junior Suite Ocean View, building 16, and the view of resort and ocean was great! From the moment we arrived and until we departed, the service is outstanding throughout the resort-from the wait staff, bar tenders, front desk, and especially our conceirge-Emmanuel! Emmanuel was excellent- and took care of all our needs when needed! The food at all restaurants was great! I really liked El Patio as I love mexican food, and, Bordeuax- French was really good as well! The 24/7 coffee and snack bar was solid too! I will say while at pool, the swim-up bar drinks are defintely a notch down from the Perferred Bar- could be the difference in the type of alcohol served there or could just be the bar tenders. The entire resport was very clean, food was great, staff was amazing! The nightly shows in the lobby were fun! Every day and night there are always activities and events going on, always something to do! The beach is cleaned everyday and the water is amazing. To the left of the resort is another resort and to the right is a long stretch of beach which is great for a good stroll along the beach. The wait staff on the beach are efficient as well! Let's say, your drink may never go empty! We did NOT want to Leave!! Highly recommended! Thank you Secrets and Emmanuel for making our stay excellent! Hoping to be soon!!

I booked a preferred club Jr suite ocean view king room. I paid a pretty heafty up charge for a room with an ocean view. When I arrived, I was put in a “partial ocean view” room at best. When I complained about the room I was told I would have to spend the night in that room and they would move me the following day. The subsequent room had the same view. The view was nothing close to the room advertised on Expedia. It was all palm trees with a small patch of blue water in the distance between two palm trees. A massive waste of money.

This property was perfect in every way! The staff is unbelievably helpful, polite, and all seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Wait staff remembered our names and our orders from day to day. LOVEDDDDD this resort. The staff is amazing, friendly, and attentive. The resort itself is super clean and has a lot of activities going on throughout the day. The only thing I was not crazy about was the food. We had some good dishes but overall the food was a 6/10. Altogether, it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning.

Always had fun activities during the day and shows at night. The restaurants all had delicious meals & atmosphere. This was simply an excellent resort. The staff were professional, friendly, and fast at addressing requests. Turn down service was in the morning and evening so room was always clean and stocked up with snacks, water, juice, beer, and liquor. The beach was clear, clean, and beautiful with waiters immediately offering drinks. Every part of the resort had a standing food/snack/drink spot, enough stack to outdoors towels and wide space covered sitting areas by the pool, swim up bar and beach. They also had a number of free standing games and exercise spots all around, including mini golf, stationary bikes, Chess, pool, billiard, basketball, volleyball, bean bag toss, swings at d bar, TV at the bar. And many more fun activities. It was an Excellent experience.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and we were absolutely blown away with our experience. We were greeted by name when we arrived and with champagne and a cold towel. Everyone was so polite and helpful. The food was amazing, they had many different dining options, even the room service food was delicious. The pools and swim up bar was a great time also. We will definitely be coming back. 10/10!!!!!

My partner and I had an enjoyable stay at Secrets Maroma Beach, but there are a few things to consider before booking at this property. Check-in: The process was smooth and easy, though they do send a salesperson your way to try and upsell the preferred club packages. Simply say "no thanks" and you can avoid the sales pitch breakfast. Food: This was a disappointment for us. Despite reading reviews about the mediocre food, I hoped they weren’t accurate, but unfortunately, the food was quite average. It’s not terrible, but for the price you’re paying, it doesn’t meet the standard we’ve experienced at other Secrets properties. Room: The hotel is 15 years old, and the rooms are not as fresh as they appear in the photos online. Some nights, our room felt a bit warm—the AC doesn’t go below 70°F. When we raised this issue, they sent us a fan as a solution, which felt subpar for a five-star hotel. Beach: The beach was okay, not amazing but not bad either. It’s large and great for swimming, but when compared to other resorts in the area, it’s pretty average. Overall: While we had a decent time, I don’t think I’d return to Secrets Maroma Beach. There are better options nearby for the same or better value.
