Had a phenomenal stay here during the Port Townsend Film Festival this year. Great views and friendly accommodating staff. Will plan to book again in the future.

Just ok - basic
Other than the views, the property is basic. There's no extra blanket or pillows in the room, and no water bottles or food on the property. Disposable plastic cups in the room, as well as only 2 paper coffee cups - not sure why reusable glasses or ceramic mugs couldn't be included? The vending machine only has soda, and the trash / recycling cans on the outer rim of the property seemed to be overflowing. Also, sad that the balcony outside our room was peeling paint / covered in bird poo - we didn't really feel comfortable trying to sit out there as the wood appeared to be rotting too. We came into town to visit family, but will likely not stay here again when we return in the future. Just lacking overall / no amenities for the price paid.

This was the worst of our trip. Front desk person discusting, could care less about your problems. Lousy at telling you where to park for your suite.Suite key stopped working after first day, but could not fix as machine I guess was broken. Hours later finally gave us the housekeeping key. Had a lovely view, but deck and railings in bad shape and the sliding door to the deck was very flimsy. Would not stay there again.

For a one night stay it was ok. The beds are smaller than any we have experienced on this trip. Very tight squeeze for two normal size adults. No breakfast of any kind are included in their price. Some kind of buss in the room all the time making it difficult to have a decent nights sleep.

About a 8 min walk to downtown. Hallways look a little run down need some TLC, the room was a lot nicer. We booked a Premium King Room. The bed was very comfy. They at one point offered breakfast but no longer offer.

Check-in was very quick and easy. Loved all the windows in our room overlooking the water. Nice shower. Super convenient location. Bed was saggy and needed replacing. Door to room had gaps around it so LOTS of light shown around it at night making it difficult to sleep. We didn't ask for our room to cleaned during our stay so having a broom in each room would be a great help to keep the gritty dirt swept up!

This convenient, roomy inn is comfortable and convenient, but needs a fresh coat of paint. One desk person was not very communicative and the other was quite entertaining and efficient. The balconies at water's edge were wonderful. The coffee maker worked when the staff operated it but never for us. The spa tub is not divided from the beds area--fine if you are a couple. I would stay there again.

I expressed my concerns in person while checking out and was told that the manager would contact me. I never heard from anyone. While checking in, I watched the front desk staff member copy my CC information into a personal note book and then tuck it into her pocket. I inquired the following morning as to why she would need to do that and requested that the pages be destroyed. The person at the desk “could not imagine” why her colleague would have written down my CC info. I would still like an explanation!

Good stay for the price
I wanna start off by saying that PT is a great little spot for a romantic getaway. All the little chic shops, the old 19th century Victorian buildings, the great little food/coffee options. The Tides was a good stay overall. Just keep in mind, this is an inn in a small port town. No continental breakfast, and you aren’t gonna get the same level of attentiveness and hospitality you would get at a nice modern/chain hotel. They do have cable TV, but the cable box in my room was connected to a HDMI input. Also make sure to select a HD channel when watching TV. The WiFi worked, but not well. So if you’re planning on streaming using a firestick or Roku, it may not work smoothly. With that said, the outside/balconies may be run down, but the room itself was clean and relatively modern. A very good sized mini fridge and a microwave. The inn is equidistant between the old downtown area and the newer town center area, both in walking distance. My only complaint about the room itself (besides the WiFi) is that the bathroom is insanely small, and the water pressure in my room was not very good. But overall, this was a great stay for the price. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway in a cute little town, or even a home base if you’re willing to drive a bit to see some of the parks on the western side of the peninsula, I would recommend staying at The Tides
