We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Bahia in La Romana ! Our family wants to thank the entire staff , people working at the restaurants , buffet , beach bar and restaurant, entertainment staff , housekeeping, desk ! We have stayed at many resorts, but so far the staff working is the best ! Entertainment people, you guys rock ! You have so much energy and positive vibe, you work so hard . Our boys loved all activities and the love you showed to them . Food was great ! Beach was so beautiful and so clean ! Pools so clean ! Room was clean . The property is so beautiful kept. Activities are great and if you want to stay busy and entertain you definitely can ! Alexia ( one of the assistant manager) was making rounds and making sure we were doing well. She is doing an amazing job ! There will be so many names we would like to mention, every single person working at Bahia is amazing !!! Thank you for making our stay memorable! Love from Chicago ♥️♥️♥️♥️ We will definitely be back !

The only true negative I can say about this resort is that the ocean water is very dirty due to the fact that there is a river flowing into the ocean near by.Besides that this is a great resort especially for its price!

The property was great. There was only one store to shop at so, you had to make the trip into the town. There was no pool service outside of the walk up bars. The food was great especially the restaurants. The rooms need to be updated badly otherwise comfortable.

I stayed 7 nights and 8 days here , beach is not clean compared to other DR beaches . Food looks same every single day not much variety. I found bugs few times in the food trays I told the chefs there they said thanks and move on don’t even take that tray off .people going there must take dharia medicine as food poisoning is pretty common and they have no covered medical assistance , they have a 24/7 clinic just kept open to rob people , not much activities for kids, pool closes at 6 pm , mosquitos are our friends once it gets dark .i would look for another alternate.

I’m really not a fan of this place and I’ve stayed at better Resorts! The food was very bland. I would only recommend the Asian restaurant. I’ve never been to a resort where there are no various food selections. They do not cater to those who do not eat pork due to religious beliefs, vegetarians or vegans. Also, I wouldn’t recommend the lobster dinner. It was a hassle to reschedule and the front desk service made it very hard to attempt to cancel. I felt harassed! It was also a lot of construction going on. However, they are in need of new pavement repairs. The construction was mainly for the poor piping systems which would explain the foul oder coming from the lawns. The only upside to this review is that the swimming bars and beach were relaxing. Also, the security at front always made sure that no extra person was in my vehicle besides my husband which assures that no intruders will be in the premises. All in all, I am sure that there are much more better resorts in the Dominican Republic besides Bahia Principe.

Clean and friendly staff. However some are not trained properly. A. Meat was undercooked twice B. We told one of the servers that we dont drink in spanish.(let alone my daughter is a minor with a different colored band). He still served us champagne telling us "sin alcohol" Rooms: A. Old and dated rooms. B. No hot water, luke warm at best, when it worked. Very bad pressure. C. AC is dated and broke down twice in 5 days.. once at 1am. D. We also have bed bugs bites Beach A. Water is not clear - no fault of the hotel. B. No jelly fish warning signs on beach even though multiple people including my daughter got stung. The lifeguard did have a spray handy, but his comment was "you too".. right after spraying another lady who got stung. If its so common, should they at least not warn us? C. Beach staff and service was good Inconsistent pricing for taxis - obviously the front desk staff is on the take. Overall this hotel should not claim it is a 5-star. Its a 3 star at best. As a family we usually take 2 trips like this a year. This was by far the worst experience based on the expectation. When rating a hotel, expedia should use the newest ratings instead of all time ratings.
