Set in an area of great diversity and bohemian culture, multi cultural and LGBTQA Lots of small cafes and businesses with predominantly local use not touristy at all. All within very quick and easy walking access to the major visitor attractions such as the Sydney Art Galleries and Museum, The domain and Botanical gardens and the harbour front. A chic and improving residential area of enormous character which I loved staying in. The only downside of the hotel is the very noisy lifts which badly impact on adjacent rooms. Ask for a room remote from the lifts. Hotel is half the size it looks on external photos as one half is an office block. Comfortable rooms and lovely buffet breakfast with friendly attentive staff.

I was misled by the Expedia rating of a four star hotel. It’s an older building in a high rise that was possibly renovated over 10 years ago. It’s really a three star hotel. The windows don’t open and they don’t have adequate ventilation. When you check in, they make you sign a waiver that if you trigger the alarm due to steam from the shower that you would be fined $1167. This is the only hotel I’ve ever stay that had such a waiver. On the weekend, you can hear the music from the bar in the hotel across the street running quite late into the night. Check in wait time took about 20 minutes. They had two people help one person. I was the only other person waiting and they were in no rush. The reception wasn’t rude but she wasn’t pleasant or helpful. She didn’t even tell me any of the amenities the building had to offer, only things I shouldn’t be doing (ie: shower with the door open). They charge a visa surcharge when paying in person. The hotel is located in an LGBT neighborhood. If you leave, turn left and walk five minutes to Kings Cross Station you are in a seedier part of town. If you leave and turn right, walk for 15 minutes, then you are in a nicer part of town. Weekdays, trying to find food after 9PM in this neighborhood is difficult as everything is pretty much shut down. There is nothing wrong with the hotel. It is that the four star rating lead to disappointed expectations. I would not recommend this area as a tourist.

This hotel was great. Convenient location, easy walk into the city, about 30 mins walk to the opera house. Hop on tourist bus stops outside hotel. Helpful Reception staff. Room had everything I needed, kettle and fridge were helpful. Supermarket on road next to hotel which was handy for snacks and drinks. I liked how the room wasn’t cleaned every day as this isn’t necessary. Cleaning staff always available to provide any extra towels, toiletries or to empty bins if needed. Good hotel, I would stay here again.

Sydney Boulevard Hotel
Excellent hotel. Large room, very clean and well appointed. Large modern hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Great location for walking to Hyde Park, the Tower, the Cathedral, many nearby restaurants and the Hop-On Hop-Off bus stops right out front of the hotel. They also have a place for your luggage if you arrive before your check-in time. Great value for your money.
Room with twin beds on 18th floor, very quiet.
