The resort was wonderful…. Staff was friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure your stay was a great experience. Pool area was nice and beach was breathtaking. There were plenty of eating options and all food was excellent… would highly recommend.

Very nice property and the staff was very friendly. The food was also pretty good quality. The only con is that the beach has a sand shelf so the water is not as good as other locations. Cool couples resort.

I didn’t like this property. The service was terrible so we paid an extra $400 to belong to the top tier and have better service and it was worse. NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. Couldn’t get a drink on the beach no server to be found. Restaurants were so slow we would get our food before ever getting the apple juice I ordered at breakfast. The property was beautiful but the service was terrible.

The staff was incredible. The food was hit or miss -- for instance, a "ribeye" steak was ordered but was actually a thin microwaved Salisbury steak. Yhe breakfast room service was ok, snack/meal was cold, microwaved fare. The liquor is watered down and they do not have Diet Coke.

We loved this place! I NEED to know the fragrance they pumped into all of the common areas- my wife loves it and we would love to bring that home with us.

My only suggestion would be more activities at the main pool. It was very quiet with nothing going on. The resort is beautiful and staff was amazing. The nighttime entertainment and dance club were great. My whole group loved the food and there are so many dining options.

The staff was great they were attentive and responsive to our requests but not in over bearing. They would actually take the time to talk to you to get an understanding what you want and how you like certain things. Evening shows were a nice touch. In particular we had exceptional experience with Rosa in house keeping, Brenda the activities coordinator/dance instructor and Chef Gabriel at the Lobster House

I really enjoyed my stay at Excellence El Carmen. The service was fantastic and every restaurant exceeded my expectations. I also found the night life to be very entertaining and there was always something to do. The swim-up bar and private beach were my two favorite things. I would love to return some time.
