Goring is a picturesque village and The Millar of Mansfield a picturesque hotel. The welcome was very warm and friendly. The rooms are all different, we had the Mansfield Suite, which consisted of two rooms, a smaller room for our son and a large room for us, in addition to a large bathroom. The small room was simply furnished, clean and bright. The large room has a huge, beautiful and very comfortable bed, a sitting area with two chairs, a table & a chaise longue, a very attractive dressing table, chest of drawers & night stands. Chandeliers hang from the ceilings. There was tea and coffee making equipment, including a Nespresso machine and homemade cookies. The bathroom was huge! We all enjoyed bathing in the roll-top bath and the shower was excellent too. We are all very impressed and are looking forward to visiting again. If you have
Problems with stairs, though, this isn’t for you.
We ate in the hotel’s restaurant too. The food was excellent and they appear to be trying very hard for a Michelin star. A number of amuse bouche were delivered to our table along the theme of The Miller, which were a very pleasant surprise and delicious! We feel that the fare was reasonably priced and would recommend it.
