Room 807. Very unpleasant smell upon entry. Pungent like cat pee or wet carpet/mold. Looks like blood on the carpet beside the bed towards the two chairs. Toilet when flushed fills with very hot water? Toilet hooked up to hot water rather than cold? Shower only brought hot hot water that could not use. Let it run for several minutes then cold water would come to make the shower useable. Positives are that all the staff were extremely friendly. Hotel inside and out looked well maintained. Food choices were good too.

A very nice and recently refurbished hotel. If you are looking for a more upmarket place to stay in Red Deer this would be the place. Bonus: there is a casino on site for those who like to do a little gaming. Nice restaurant choices as well. I recommend.

Parking is horrible, they don't designated parking for hotel guests. There was 5 Christmas parties going on plus the casino people making us have to park at the back of the hotel and walk around. If you are older or have difficulties walking it makes it challenging.

We chose this hotel as we were attending a MMA event at this location. After the event, the security guard made us leave the venue via an outdoor exit even though we were guests at the hotel. The temperature was -17 degrees and we did not have coats or boots! During our 4-night stay, our room was not vacuumed, garbage was not emptied. I made the bed myself as i do not like to sleep in an unmade bed. We exchanged clean towels with cleaning staff as they did not seem to follow any type of schedule, so we found it difficult to arrange to be out of our room to allow for cleaning 3 days out of 4. The one day we were out of the room, they didn't clean it anyways! Guest across the hall had a dog which barked incessantly for 2 days. Another room had a couple who communicated by screaming at each other until 3 am. Could hear guest above our room walking around. No soundproofing at all. Impossible to get a decent night's sleep. All in all, the hotel is in desperate need of upgrades, decor is brown, old, and dreary. Need some type of security for noise control. Bathroom sink had a distinct odour, shower door was broken, floor grout was filthy. Bathrobes were not provided as advertised. Definitely, not the mini vacation we had envisioned.

The staff at this casino are so accommodating and friendly, I have had a red carpet vip experience. Right from check in to my server in the casino bar to the attendant on the casino floor who paid me in cash for my big win. Could not be more pleased. The hotel is clean, quiet and rooms are large and renovated. Will stay again soon.
