La Casa di Nonno is a private apartment for rent for tourist stays, located in the Ostiense area near the Basilica of San Paolo. Here you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Roman daily life and have an authentic experience.
This house belonged to my grandfather and we wanted to keep the kitchen and bedroom intact, which are original and well preserved. This adds a touch of affection and nostalgia to your experience as you can immerse yourself in happy memories of the past.
Located on the seventh floor of a nine-story building and equipped with an elevator, the apartment is bright and spacious, with an area of 120 square meters. It consists of three bedrooms, an eat-in kitchen, two bathrooms (one complete and the other with toilet and sink), a living room, two balconies and a veranda with sink. There is central heating, but the apartment does not have air conditioning.
During your stay, you will have the entire apartment at your disposal, unless you are a single guest. In that case, you will be able to choose the single room you prefer and the other two bedrooms will be closed.
Upon arrival, the apartment will be cleaned and supplied with bed linen and towels for your comfort. However, for legal reasons, we will not be able to carry out any further cleaning during your stay, nor will we be able to provide breakfast or meal services.
We remind you that it is forbidden to invite or host unregistered people, as well as organize parties, meetings or events in the apartment. If you wish to smoke, we ask you to do so only on the balconies using the appropriate ashtrays. Also, to ensure a clean environment, please do not eat or drink in the bedrooms and avoid any type of work activity in the apartment.
Being part of a condominium, we ask that you use common sense and behave in a civilized manner during your stay, respecting the rules of the condominium and other residents.
If you arrive by car, you will find free public parking in the surrounding streets. Alternatively, paid covered parking is available in a private garage, accessible without time restrictions.
The apartment enjoys a privileged location, just a 10-minute walk from the majestic Basilica of San Paolo, one of the most important papal basilicas in Rome, second only to St. Peter's in the Vatican in terms of size. The surrounding area is rich in history and spirituality, with the presence of the Catacombs of Santa Tecla, San Callisto and San Sebastiano, fascinating places that tell the ancient history of the city.
The Ostiense district is lively and pulsating, inhabited mainly by Romans who go about their daily lives. Here you will have the opportunity to breathe the authentic Roman atmosphere and immerse yourself in the life of the local community, without feeling like just a passing tourist. You will find a wide range of shops, supermarkets, cinemas, bars, cafes, pizzerias, pastry shops, restaurants and shops of all kinds, thus satisfying your every need.
The area is well served by public transport, offering you the possibility to easily reach any part of Rome. The Basilica San Paolo underground station (Line B) is just a 4-minute walk away, as is the bus stop. This will allow you to arrive in just a few stops at the magnificent Colosseum or at EUR, a modern and dynamic district. If you want to enjoy a day at the beach, you can reach it in just 30 minutes by train.
The University of Rome 3 is also nearby, making the apartment an ideal choice for students and academic visitors. Furthermore, for any medical emergencies, the Bambino Gesù children's hospital is approximately 2 km away, while the CTO Alesini hospital is approximately 3 km away.
If you are fond of shopping, you will have the I Granai, Euroma 2 and Maximo shopping centers at your disposal, all located in the immediate vicinity.
In summary, the Casa di Nonno offers you not only comfortable accommodation, but also an authentic and immersive experience in Roman life, with the convenience of a strategic position and easy access to the main places of interest in the city.
Check-in at the apartment is available from 15:00 to 19:30. However, in order to better organize ourselves and welcome you personally, we ask you to let us know the check-in time you want. Furthermore, upon your arrival, it will be necessary to sign the tourist lease contract as required by the Revenue Agency. We will send you the contract a few days before your arrival and we will bring copies for both of you to fill out.
If you need to change the previously communicated check-in time, please inform us within the day before arrival. Supplements will be applied for late check-ins without prior notice: €30 for check-in between 7.30pm and 10.00pm, or €50 for check-in between 10.00pm and midnight :00. These supplements must be paid in cash upon arrival.
Please note that check-in is not allowed after 00:00.
As for check-out, we kindly ask you to leave the apartment by 10.30am.
Upon check-in, we will hand you the keys and explain the meaning of the different colors of the keys. In addition, we will repeat the house rules, which you can also find posted on the notice board of the apartment for reference during your stay.
