Really liked the hotel a mix of older devo and modern it looked really good on the eye, staff were very friendly and helpful from check in to breakfast to check out, cannot fault our stay, our room was lovely big and spacious lively big bay window over looking the sea, breakfast was lovely and i loved the varying times you could choose which made the stay more relaxed.
It’s a beautiful old hotel, staff were great and breakfast was lovely however the bed we were in was NOT a standard double- more three quarter and with us in it, it made for an uncomfortable night on my part (literally clinging to the edge of the bed). Room was very small and the bathroom very clean but tiny - yet again it was difficult to manoeuvre. Wouldn’t book again but just our preference to have more space.

Not amazing but not a lot to not like
Friendly and professional staff, room very clean but a bit small and dated. Bathroom small and shower a bit poor. Nice location and plenty of on street parking.
All the staff are all very friendly and helpful they told us the best eating restaurants in the town to go to as there’s was. Closed on a Friday night but that was no problem as they were all in walking distance
really nice bar and public areas. Hotel clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Exactly what we wanted.

The Hotel had a wonderful pool and Jaccuzi. You book in advance which was lovely because we had the entire facility to ourselves! The location is perfect - 15/ 20 mins to main strip and beach via various routes but very hilly and steep.
The staff were great, and we enjoyed breakfast - they were amazing with my allergy!! I have a severe nut and peanut allergy and the staff were great.
The room itself was comfortable and large, with TV, hair dryer and HUGE bed! The facilities were old, and there was no iron. The shower room was very outdated and the shower wasn't great. We booked a room with no view which we regret because we had a blurred window (for privacy) over looked by properties. The walls are thin so often woken up by people above or in corridors. WIFI WAS RUBBISH - I had an important meeting which I had to leave as Internet kept cutting out.
Overall it was a wonderful stay and we will be back due to great pool facilties and location. (Will book a sea view room next time). Lovely staff for both families and couples!

Hotel in a great position with lovely sea views, good amenities and looks to have had a bit of a makeover since previous reports of it being dated.
The downsides were that the bedroom was way too warm with a big hot pipe running up through it and a heated towel radiator which we were able to switch off. Double bed felt quite small when you’re used to sharing a king sized bed and the temperature made it hard to sleep properly. Woke up with a very stuffy head. Also bathroom door very difficult to open from the inside and had to call my partner to open from the outside. This needs dealing with as if someone is in the room
Alone they could potentially get locked in.

Lovely staff, great breakfast the only complaint would be room was small but fine for one night.
Exceptionally welcoming and helpful staff. Hotel looks beautiful and is comfortable, spacious and clean. Great amenities- recommend the gym and swimming pool/hot tub. Next to the sea front and very close to the Victorian Spa.
My friend and I fancied a night away and when we arrived at the Red Lea we were given a very warm welcome. We were given our room key and told about dinner, breakfast and the pool and spa facilities. We were also advised that nearby restaurants could be recommended if we told them what sort of food we were after.
