It lies 45 kilometres to the northeast of Oslo, the capital of Norway.

Take a leisurely stroll among the coastal surrounds at Whale Beach or Hvervenbukta Beach.

You'll discover some nice natural sights around Vormsund. Why not make your way 50 kilometres to Hovedoya? Alternatively, soak up the different sights and sounds of Ekebergparken Sculpture Park, 45 kilometres away.

Be sure to pack some red and blue clothing so you can support the local soccer team, the Norway National Team, at Ullevaal Stadium. Located 45 kilometres away in Oslo, the venue is also the home ground of the Valerenga Football.

Whether you're striving to improve your technique or just make it back to the chairlift in one piece, Akershus has the slopes for you. Enjoy some wintry fun at either Vikersundbakken Ski Flying Hill or Drammen Ski Centre.
