The room was very dated , ceiling wallpaper coming away , tatty decoration and well worn furniture
We had to ask for a heater s as the room was very cold also cracked glass window that was leaking in
We did repot this to reception.
It’s a shame the hotel is falling a part was once such a
Beautiful hotel now needs a serious upgrade.
Very dated room, rotten mouldy window frames, very damp. No soap or toiletries in the room as described.Towels smelt very greasy. Charged an extra £6 to park a car in the hotel car park??? No breakfast buffet available. The hotel is in need of much needed investment, it is falling apart around them? Much better hotels available around the location.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Bedroom needs modernising it was quite noisy from the road outside and the windows were dripping with condensation. Also your room wasn't serviced unless you asked them to quite a strange occurrence in these times. All other parts of the hotel were very clean and tidy

Room and hotel is all you need. Cosy rooms and comfortable beds. My only criticism is that the walls are paper thin, and I was woken up by some neighbours being rather intimate. Overall was good. Thanks
Absolutely Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs!
I wish I could give this place zero stars. From the moment I walked in, it was a disaster. The staff was rude and dismissive.
They have me a piece of paper where it explains that there is parking charge but they did not bother to mention there is any service request required for getting a basic clean of the room.
They acted like it was my fault when I reported The room was NOT serviced. They shown me a nearly hidden notice that they wouldn't service the room unless requested, which is already frustrating, but what’s worse is that even after requesting it, they didn’t bother to change the bedsheets, towels, or duvet covers so they only put them upside down. I had to sleep on dirty sheets, and it was absolutely disgusting. Also the bathtub was so narrow that it became uncomfortable or unsafe to use, and if the handrail obstructed its usability, wondering if this design allows both regulations and comfort. Handrail is must thing but that should allow a person a medium build person to use the bath.
To make matters worse, the mattress was horrible – it was so old and poky that I could feel the springs digging into my back all night. It was impossible to get a decent night's sleep. The whole experience felt like the staff just didn’t care about their guests’ comfort or basic hygiene
This was by far the worst hotel experience of my life. Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else!
Really friendly staff from the enquiry call, but little else stood out except the price. En-suite room for the cost of a hostel bed, so can't complain.
Room was exceptionally dated and rundown, looked like years of mould and rust had been painted over and badly so. The door meant everyone walking past speaking at a normal tone sounded like they were standing over your bed, not great when opposite the laundry cupboard!
If i'd paid more, i would of complained about the room.
It also wasn't obvious that you had to pay extra for parking, with an odd system of quoting your reg number when you arrived and paying at a machine on departure, which meant a gaggle of folk waiting around the front door.
Awful experience right from initial front desk staff meet to the room, bed springs poking through mattress, not clean, needs an awful lot of money spending on hotel. To make things worse we where sat in the bar area outside at 21.30 hours having a drink, the music went off and we where left in darkness with a full drink outside. Staff member said he was closing early. Bar should have been open till 23.30 hours. Say no more l could go on
A real experience hotel, large rooms, very comfortable and the character of the hotel has remain over the years. lots of coach tours each night which made dining or grabbing a drink in a little awkward for a couple.
Real close to other dining options in the nearby village.
Well I don’t know where to start. All I can say is absolutely HORRENDOUS from start to finish.
First of all is the cleanliness of the hotel room and bathroom.
Mould all over the bathroom and shower please see photos attached.
I didn’t have a shower all weekend.
Holes in the door.
Holes in the wall and marks all over.
My husband had to fix the handles on the drawers.
Ceiling paper peeling off.
No shampoo or soap in dispensers.
Parking 6 pound per day
Dogs 10 per dog per day.
We went to speak to staff about the room and they just said sorry no alternative. We also requested soap and toilet rolls which never came.
The pub next door is also horrendous with rude staff we went in for one drink and didn’t go back.
Also went to reception to complain about this and was just told sorry.
The door lock isn’t secure and could easily be pushed open when locked.
To say we spent all together £310 for this experience is not on.
I would not recommend and would go so far to say that this hotel should not be operating with rooms like this.
