Staff were excellent as was the location. The property itself is dated and in need of a makeover.
The hotel itself is a little dated and could do with updating however for the price you can't really complain. The staff are all lovely and very friendly and attentive. The food is really good, I recommend the steak, it was so tender. We took 2 dogs with us and they were made a fuss of too. This is our 2nd time there and we have booked again already for November.
1 night stay with my child. Room was quiet despite football being shown. Close to flamingo land resort. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent.
We were made to feel very welcome from the second we walked in the door. Everything was explained to us, car parking, breakfast and where the bar was (very important lol) we were so pleased we picked this hotel. The food was great too.
The staff were nice and helpful though sometimes hard to find! Breakfast was nice but we ate in the restaurant for dinner and while nice it was very overpriced for the quality of food. Room was small but nice. The bedrooms and upstairs areas were clean but really need to be redecorated as they are very tired and shabby. Was good to have a dog friendly section for breakfast but all the set tables were crammed into one corner of the area meaning the dogs were all on top of each other which was less useful. Overall a decent stay for the price but definitely room for improvement.
The hotel was very clean with barman/manager most helpful and prompt in dealing with us on our arrival. He was serving customers at the bar but said that he would be with us in a couple of minutes, and he was true to his word as he took us up to our room and explained everything to us that we needed to know. We decided to have a drink and dine in the restaurant as the menu looked very good. We were not disappointed as the food and service were first class. As we were staying for two nights we had breakfast each morning in the hotel and it to was first class with an excellent choice and service. As we will probably dine at the Michelin star restaurant again we will certainly return to the Kings Head Hotel. Great food, great service and excellent value for money.
Very friendly and welcoming on arrival. Nice to be known by staff it makes the stay so much more comfortable.
It was nice to stay in the cottage as it gave us more freedom. This was really well appointed.
Thankyou
It was New Years Eve I had already been sent the menus. I had pre ordered 3 from the Christmas Menu and was told that the other 3 from the normal/specials menus could order on the night. When we checked in I was told other than the pre orders it was Sunday lunch menu only. I challenged this and was told they would have a word with the kitchen team. Meanwhile we were shown to our room which was in serious need of some TLC. A Christmas tree outside the window with lights could be turned off but that didn't stop the cold air coming through where the wires were. In the bathroom the wood surrounding the shower door was rotten and the towel rail came away from the wall. The other 2 rooms again needed some TLC and had hairs in the sinks. The kitchen issue was sorted my meal was almost cold and 3 were over cooked. We were rushed with dessert as the kitchen staff wanted to be away. All in all very disappointing. The family made the most of it but will be in no rush to return.
Perfect for me as I was working locally, great breakfast, warm room and great location.

In nead of a porter to help with heavy bags.
A little to old fashioned and a very long walk to our room, especially with a heavy suit case, over all it was very clean,As we were only there for one night we just we were able to put a few things in a bag to bring up.other than that we would not have been able to stay I think that should be on the web site.Di Foulger.
