I visited in 2021. It wasuch better service. We had an A la carte every night. But this time only 4 diners. The iguana bar was not staffed at all. It was the pool closest to our room and some days there was not even any water to drink. We are happy we spent the extra money to get the yellow bracelet. We spent more time at akumal than we did at coba because the service was not as good. The room service was good but there was always a 2-3 day delay. We asked for extra pillows or to refill the fridge with a diet coke and it took several days. Our roof leaked after it rained. The standard was not as high as 2021 when we came last time to Bahia Principe.

The entertainment team (Antonio and Lizbeth particularly) at grand Coba kept us engaged over Christmas and New year with all the activities. The house keeping service provided by Samuel was outstanding. Food at the buffets and all restaurants were excellent. We were totally looked after by all of the attentive staff, and Jose kept the glasses filled. Thoroughly recommend the resort for multigenerational holidays, keeping everyone from teen boys to the golden oldies happy for 2 weeks.

there is no room service and no pool service or beach service . Place smells like mildew and sticks to your clothes . No vip service just allowed to go from hotel to hotel. Staff was great but resort was not. Very disappointed

Not enough information on daily events could have had an itinerary plan for guest . I got charged for a Mexican event while on all inclusive ?on the resort ? Then didn’t go and still had to pay for it ? Totally a cash grab found if you didn’t buy anything they didn’t want to help you .also got sick from buffet dinner just before plane ride .most staff were very helpful and transportation around the resort was really good and properly was well maintained

Traveled with my husband and 9yr old. Our experience was highly disappointing due to significant issues with accommodations, dining, and overall service. While the beach and pools offered brief enjoyment, the resort’s numerous shortcomings overshadowed these positives. The guest room was infested with mosquitos, and fumigation efforts failed to resolve the problem. The air conditioning was unreliable and eventually stopped working, with maintenance unable to fix it after multiple attempts. Additional issues included stained bedding, an uncomfortable sofa bed, a malfunctioning safe that was never repaired, and a bathroom with a puddling shower, poorly flushing toilet, and faulty faucet. Dining was frustrating, with buffet food often salty, undercooked, or overcooked, and mislabeled items with limited variety. Restaurant reservations were hard to secure, with only two available during our stay. While the Mediterranean Restaurant provided good food and service, the Cozumel Restaurant was a major letdown, serving subpar food that failed to reflect authentic Mexican cuisine! Bar service was equally poor, with watered-down drinks, a limited spirit selection, and long lines, particularly at the beach bar. However, the beach was beautiful, and snorkeling was enjoyable, but pools closed early at 6 PM. The resort itself felt outdated, with slow shuttle service, poor lighting, and insufficient maps for navigation. Entertainment was poorly communicated, and the app was unreliable.

This was our second trip to this resort. We enjoyed the easy access from one area to the next, and especially enjoyed the long walks on the beach. We loved the area around the infinity pool at Akumal. Our room was clean, and housekeeping did an excellent of tidying and restocking every day. The entertainment was enjoyable. we are already planing our next trip!
