About this property

The Homestead, at Nine Pines Farm - Hot Tub and Walking Trails

Whether it's the rich early-American history, or the scenic beauty of the Appalachian foothills, The Homestead is the best place to start your adventure into the Hocking Hills!
While the 23 acre farm itself dates back to the late Civil War Era, The Homestead is an updated farmhouse, at the front of the property, that still holds quirky and charming reminders of its approximately 150+ years on the farm. The Homestead also sits alongside the John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail, the route Confederate Brigadier General Morgan took during his raid on Southern OH.

With it's rolling pastures, petite orchard and grapevines, and the staple white picket fence, it's too easy to get lost in a daydream on the screened-in back porch.
The fenced in area is a great place for your family pet to run, and the shared trails and seasonal pond are a great place to kill time. In the evenings, you can unwind by the fire ring out back, or relax in the hot tub on the patio.

The Homestead is also centrally located to everything the Hocking Hills region has to offer!

No complaints.
Lots of space, nice hot tub, liked the dining area and the kitchen. Everything was clean. For the price of a hotel, you get a house.

Was clean. King bed comfortable but other bed & LivRm furniture not comfortable at all. Bathrm access must go through a bedroom. Grill was filthy, no propane. Cooked steaks over campfire.

Family Getaway
I think this property has potential but it is in need of updates. The most important being that there are only shutter doors on the main bedrooms and they are off of the kitchen area. There is NO privacy. The bedroom considered the master bedroom is also the access to the upstairs and front entry way and you can’t close it off so it’s the main traffic area. There were mouse droppings all over and hasn’t been properly maintained. The back yard had an underground bees nest that kept us away from a large section there. I had a dog that we had to contain in a small area so she couldn’t use that section of the yard. It was a hassle. This was a disappointing experience and there is so much more. I think maybe the only thing we did enjoy was the hotub. That was decent. We won’t be back to this property.

quirky but nice
The home fit all of us well, we had 8 adults and 2 children. Home has its quirks like one bathroom door is smaller than the doorway and open at the top, you have to walk thru bedrooms to get to other bedrooms and there are no doors. Home was handicap accessible, doorways are just wide enough. Dishwasher didn't work but hopefully they will get that fixed soon. I suggest to bring your own pillows. Overall we really enjoyed the space in the home and the screened in porch was great. Due to burn ban we were unable to use the firepit but it was nicely set up.

Great Girl Scout "Glamping" Trip
This was a perfect place for our Girl Scout troop to have our "Glamping" trip in Hocking Hills. The girls enjoyed cooking meals in the kitchen and eating them family style around the dinner table in the dining room. They really liked the hot tub, and the room arrangements were great for accommodating 7 girls and 2 adults. The hosts were extra helpful and mailed 2 articles that the girls left behind. The girls also liked hiking the property and being so close to our Hocking Hills activities.

Quaint and Quirky!
First let me say that Nick was an excellent host. Answered all of my questions beforehand and came when we needed some help. The house is clean and the rooms were adequate for our needs. The table was large enough to fit all nine of us. The hot tub was a hit at the end of the day to help with aches and pains but our favorite place was around the firepit. Lots of laughs and memories shared.

Farmhouse
Inside house was very nice. Bed was comfortable. I loved the porches. But the front porch had a strong smell like paint. Also i think you should put grab bars in bathroom for the elderly with a handicap. Other then that loved the place

Family getaway to celebrate retirement
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this getaway for a special celebration of my wife's retirement. The Homestead was a perfect place to meet and make a special weekend for her. Homestead is secluded and homy. There was space for all to have their own room but amenities to enjoy family, from the hot tub, to the fire ring, to the property trails, to the dining table. All this on top of the proximity to a state park. Always amazed at the little touches the owners include that just make you smile. I am looking forward to returning; I want to stay here at least once a year, only longer! The Homestead is such a special place! Sometimes I do something right. This was one of those times!

Perfect Homestead!
I rented this property for a mini get-away for my adult daughters and me. It was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Great layout for socializing but bedrooms were far enough away if you wanted to go to bed early you had peace and quiet. The kitchen had everything we needed- even spices, soap, dishwasher tabs, etc. Nice surprise- usually there are a few dishes and pans. The pond was full of bluegill and bass and there was a fenced yard for my daughter’s dogs. Owner was super nice and accommodating. 5 stars! Will definitely book again.

Visiting Family
This old Farmhouse was very nice and spacious & fit our family of 10 perfectly ,while we were in town visiting other family. It was cozy with alot of charm & smelled very nice . The Air condtioning worked great ,the while house was nice and cool. Also the beds were very comfortable, plenty of dishes ,crockpot ,spices, some condiments in fridge, pet cables/scooper , hot tub worked great, firewood on site to purchase as well. We really enjoyed the place and it was short walking distance to the trails and fishing pond. We caught quite a few fish!. The owners were very prompt replying back to any questions we had. We would defiantly bring our family here again! Thankyou

Nice family getaway
My family enjoyed our time at the Homestead. We spent a lot of time outside at the fire pit, exploring the hiking trails and fishing at the pond. The house could use some updates like a new master mattress and windows upstairs to keep the stink bugs and lady bugs out. They were everywhere. Overall, we had a great time!

Family Trip
We loved our stay at Homestead! There was more than enough space for me, my grown son, two teens, a nine year old, and two dogs. The fenced in back yard was great! We were able to sit around and enjoy the fire and not worry about the pups running off after a critter or something. The kids enjoyed exploring the trails and the fishing pond. The kitchen was great for preparing meals. The table was perfect for family board games. The location was very good for visiting the caves and still close enough to town that we were able to make quickish runs to the store if we needed to. Honestly, I could go on and on. Check-in and check-out were both very easy. It was over all a very relaxing time.
