This hotel is a place that I used to stay at with my Mom back in the 80's. It was never fancy, but was nice with an amazing view. I was very disappointed to find that it's now in terrible shape. Our room had doors that were rotting and falling off the hinges, worn out furniture, and ants. This place is in an excellent location, with a great view of the city and harbor - but really, really needs a renovation. I won't stay here again.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
For me & my 2 sisters it was fine. However, some of the lights were out, bulbs missing or burned out. Could use a few mirrors in the rooms. It was very clean & space was great! The place has seen better days but again it was very clean! Very important to us! It had a little kitchen which was a pleasant surprise! Overall, we’d stay there again now that we know the layout!
The staff was nice. They updgraded us because it was our anniversary. The place is clean, just a bit run down and old but it is conveniently located and though it is a bit of a hill, it wasn't too crazy. Overall we enjoyed it, for one night it was good enough but could definitely use an renovation.
Front desk gal was awesome, no question.
This suite was very outdated & lacking decent fixtures. Bed was very uncomfortable, difficult to get a decent sleep. Leaky bathroom faucet, shower water temps & pressure inadequate. This place looks like it the 70’s wants it back.
Again, the front desk gal was awesome but the suite was not worth the cost. Cannot justify staying here in the future unless serious improvements are made.
Hotel is an older property. Bed and bedding was also older as was the bathroom. It was so so clean wise. Biggest gripe was as we checked in, we were informed there was a $15 resort fee that we knew nothing about from booking through your website. We stayed just one night, so don’t know if that fee was for the entire stay or per night. Property is up a hill, but an easy 7 or so minute from the ferry. We spent little time in the room other than to sleep, so it was an adequate experience. Fun to visit Avalon - we were reasonably close to all the things we wanted to do. If we went again we’d probably stay elsewhere.
Carpets filthy dirty, wood laminate furniture that was peeling. Front balcony had orange cones in areas and plywood flooring. Computer system failed and missed early check-in. No coffee in rooms or reception area. Tried to cancel at check-in but because I booked on Expedia I could not immediately cancel reservation. The room was nothing like pictures on Expedia. I cannot believe this property is recommended by Expedia.
I chose one of their more expensive suites with beach view for the weekend. I thought I had paid everything including all fees and taxes beforehand but when i arrived i had to pay an extra $15 a night for resort fees. The room I was given was old, dirty and had really outdated furnishings. The fridge had a granola bar in the freezer that wasn't cleaned out. Part of the front window blinds were missing the pull cord so i couldn't close them for privacy. The kitchen window was missing the blinds in one section altogether. Carpet had tears in it. TV was a small maybe 24 inch screen hung on a mount with a cable box and a mess of wires just dangling underneath. The bed was a pulldown bed that was stiff and uncomfy. I dont know if the other rooms are like this but for the money I was paying I did not get the quality room I thought their suites would be.
It’s worth it to upgrade to a partial ocean view or full ocean view because the view is spectacular and you are guaranteed a nice outdoor space. The jacuzzi was fantastic and hardly used by other guests. Free ice, water, coffee. Extremely close to Casino Point and the main street.
