Nice rooms but bad atmosphere
Lovely room and comfy bed, it was very clean. Breakfast was nice. Felt like outsiders in the bar, which wasn’t a nice atmosphere for hotel guests. It felt like the Spanish Inquisition the way we were questioned by a member of staff about where we were from and why we were there while trying to enjoy our drinks. If you arrive late the pub is locked and you have to call to get in which we were unaware of and was not told when we checked in

Lovely stay but a little disappoint.
We booked htis because we like retausrsnts with rooms. Pros Lovely room with very comfortable bed Good breakfast Fabulous roast beef dinner Lovely restaurant outside area and gardens Great wine list cons No aircon, it was s hot evening. Restaurant shuts at 8.00pm, we didnt realise when we booked but luckily my husband spotted it.we couldn't get a table until 7.00 Some of the meals had run out, and also hand cut chips!? My husband was craving fish and chips which he'd seen a photograph of online. Fish and fries isn't quite the same. Fire alarm went off twice within 5 mins at 23.00. All customers were evacuating, no staff until we went downstairs. Then told we think wevd sorted it, pretty chaotic

Stylish, welcoming, a real gem of a hotel
The Punchbowl is a little gem of a hotel. The staff are wonderfully friendly with Fran sorting me a breakfast to take with me as I did not have time to stay for it in the morning. The atmosphere is relaxing and stylish. The menu was mouthwatering and my chosen dish was delicious. Everything came with a smile. I could not recommend enough.
