I reserved a Deluxe King Room at Glen Cove Inn & Suites on Expedia for the nights of 9/14 and 9/15. The reservation was paid in full and non-refundable. Upon arrival, we were given keys and entered a room where the bed was unmade and dirty towels were on the floor. We were then given keys to a smaller room with a tiny bathroom that included a very small shower stall with a dirty cloth shower curtain that dragged on the floor of the stall. This was not a deluxe room. We went back to the reservation office, said that we were not satisfied with the room and requested a refund, which we were denied. I called Expedia and was told that we could get a refund, but it would take 60-80 days and I would have to give the Expedia representative my credit card number over the phone and pay $199, which would entitle me to a credit for a future reservation. I told the rep that I would not provide him with my credit card number as the procedure sounded suspicious. We did stay at a property next to Glen Cove (Strawberry Hill Seaside Inn, which was lovely) and was told that Glen Cove was recently sold. I strongly suggest that people not book lodging at Glen Cove when staying in Rockport, particularly on Expedia (I will never book on Expedia again BTW).
