Beautiful ocean view though the water right at the beach is kind of dirty looking—not really what I expected for Cancún area. Very nice room, but the Excelerate rooms are apparently near the loud daytime DJs. Exhale rooms seemed to be a more chill vibe.

i found the property to be too loaud in the daytime. i was under the impression that we would be in the quieter area, when asked if we could be moved it was not possible as sold out. food was ok but not great at some restaurants. staff was nice.

I don’t even know where to begin. From the moment we checked in at the Xcale Club until the very last moment, our experience was HORRIBLE! When we arrived, they refused to take us to our room. They just handed us the keys and said, “Here are your keys, your room is 5220.” I had to ask them to take us to our room. The luggage arrived much later. Then, the check-in process was terrible, as they asked us personal questions and questioned us to the point where we felt discriminated against. The customer service was HORRIBLE. All the restaurants treated us terribly. César, the waiter at the Xcale Club restaurant during breakfast, was especially rude. The lack of customer service in this hotel is insane!!!

The staff made my stay excellent even though the room definitely was NOT “ocean view” at all. Buffet was closed every evening for dinner. Hotel store is insanely expensive. $38 for sunscreen. Again, staff were what made a difference and made my stay awesome.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Breathless Resort. This was my first experience at one of your properties, and unfortunately, it will be my last due to the numerous issues I encountered. To start, I had requested a birthday design for my room upon arrival, but this was not provided until the very last day, which completely defeated the purpose of the celebration. Additionally, the water from both the shower and sink smelled like sewer water, and the entire room had a foul odor that forced us to leave the patio door open just to make it bearable. Despite reporting these issues via phone and the app, no one from maintenance ever came to address them. The sheets in our room were dirty, and even after requesting housekeeping through the app for Saturday, no one showed up to clean the room. On top of that, the cabinets were damaged, and the countertops were broken and damaged in multiple spots, which was unacceptable for the price I paid for this resort. The lack of service extended to dining as well. We ordered breakfast at 10:45 a.m., yet it was not delivered until 1:40 p.m. Waiting nearly three hours for a meal is completely unacceptable and added to my overall frustration with the stay. Given all of these issues—none of which were adequately addressed despite my efforts to voice concerns during my stay—I feel that the experience was not worth it

Room was very clean, housekeeping was amazing! Staff were super friendly. I didn’t realize we booked on the “noisy” side overlooking the party pool. Music started early (loud) didn’t bother us but might bother others so good to know. “Nightclub” on the resort was fun. Pool parties were awesome. Food wasn’t amazing but I never expect that at an all inclusive.

We liked the decor, service, and cleanliness of the property. The beach was nice however the water was full of seaweed so not swimmable. We were very disappointed about this because our reason for travelling to the caribbean was to to swim in the ocean near the resort. The resort was too remote which made travel to nearby towns and attractions very expensive. We will not return to Breathless Riviera for these reasons.

Overall Impression: The stay was enjoyable, but I’m unsure if it was worth the cost, as I’ve experienced better resorts at a similar price point. Highlights: Entertainment: Incredible shows and activities, including karaoke nights, mariachi bands, dancers, and more. Service: Quick and efficient room service, attentive housekeeping, and friendly servers. Amenities: A wide range of options for a staycation, including classes, a gym, tennis courts, a café, a spa, and spacious rooms—our junior suite was more than enough for two people. Dining: The Italian and Asian restaurants were excellent! (Note: The hibachi experience requires reservations.) Areas for Improvement: Room Issues: The room had a persistent moldy smell, requiring constant use of a fan and incense to manage it. Food Quality: Surprisingly, the Mexican cuisine and taco options were underwhelming, which is disappointing for a resort in Mexico. Vegetarian options were limited, both in restaurants and room service. Towels: Getting towels often involved a 20-minute or longer wait, which was frustrating. Seating: The number of chairs was insufficient for the number of guests. To secure a chair, we had to reserve one as early as 9 AM. VIP Credit: The $200 VIP credit coupon felt misleading, as services cost $180–$300, and only $40 could be applied per service. Shared Spaces: Guests from the sister property, Secrets Resort, often used Breathless pools and beach chairs, further contributing to overcrowding.
