When my husband & I checked in we were immediately upgraded, because I am disabled & use a wheelchair, the room we were originally given had 3 steps to get to it & they said that we would find it difficult to get too so was given a lovely large room, the staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were so lovely, kind & attentive. The only down side we found was there weren’t any large disabled parking bays near the entrance, in fact there weren’t very many at all.

Good hotel for an overnight stay.
Hotel very good. Check in excellent. Room good but a chair by the desk would be helpful as easy chair too low. In the bathroom the left hand door of shower cubicle didn’t fit properly and in danger of falling off. Also, while the facilities in the bathroom were generally good, the lid on the toilet seat was really cheap and flimsy. Generally, a little extra care could change the rating of the room from good to excellent.

We absolutely loved the atmosphere of this building. It was beautiful inside and out. The reception, hallways, toilets and rooms, all extremely clean and pleasant looking. The restaurant was very nice. Food wasn't incredible but decent nonetheless. Cozy place. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of customer service. Most people in this place like the receptionists and servers, give off this uninterested tone. Wouldn't really make eye contact, barely smiled. Aside from that, lovely place.

last minute booking
Having booked the 2-night stay on a booking site before checking any reviews and paid i was shocked at some of the reviews when i eventually got around to reading them. The stay didn't get off to the best of starts when the power was off when we checked in. On check out i was charged for the room and as i was in a rush just thought the payment hadn't been taken at the time of booking. later that afternoon i checked my account and i haad been charged twice for the room. I rang the hotel and the refund was made straight away. Having stayed two nights and had a meal in the restaurant although lacking a little in atmosphere the food and service was extremely good. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that part of the hotel. I have to say our stay was good value for money and the staff were very pleasant, room was a good size, clean, good T.V. Be careful regarding the car registration on check in, sure it could catch one or two people out if only arriving to collect a resident. Overall, a very good stay and i have to disagree with some of the comments written by previous visitors. We were pleasantly surprised with the standard of the facilities for the amount we paid and would have no hesitation in booking again if in. the area

We thought we'd found a hidden gem of a hotel with an authentic feel. What we got was very different. When we arrived the gentleman on reception was friendly and advised us of an upgrade to our room. The communal areas of the hotel are clean and modern. The rooms are very dated with worn and broken furniture. I asled for bedding for the sofa bed to be told i had been upgraded and didnt require bedding as thar was not in our original booking. After a lot of confusing and some to and fro with the reception we finally had bedding provided. That was the least if our issues. We werenr advised on our check in that there was a private function on going and it was in fact right our side of our room. This turned out to be an array of extremely loud music which went kn for hours. At 930 i went tk rexeption to complain, why put us in a room right at the side of the marque with a child knowing that the volume of music would stop us settling. The receptionist was very snotty and advised that we should be grateful that we'd had an upgrade. But that the music would be switched off at 10pm. At 1045 we had to go down again as by this time we had a ratty child who was overtired. We felt as though we were an after thought as the party and their guests wete a priority. I definitely will not be retuning

Lovely welcoming calming hotel only issue breakfast very greasy couldn’t eat and maintenance working outside of room 8:45 no problem to stop hotel being renovating as I believe it recently been taken over would defo stay again beautiful location and free parking
