We stayed before and it was good. This time we were put in a tiny upstairs room with no elevator. The desk said they had flooded rooms in the 1st floor and nothing available unless we shortened our stay. The bed was against the wall the room was so small. The restaurant downstairs is rarely open. The stay was disappointing this time.

We made a reservation at the last minute and were not expecting much and were extremely happy. Our room was very clean, and the hotel has been remodeled recently. I stayed at the Strat in Vegas last month and paid the upcharge for a recent “remodeled” room and the room at Smokey Falls was ten times better. In fact, we liked it so much we booked a trip for a week here this summer. Would highly recommend.

My family and I have been coming to Maggie Valley for over 5 years and this was the best stay we've had! The room was huge, clean and had everything we needed. And the restaurant is a MUST!! Excellent food and prices!

Charming, older property but poor services

Need to work on customer experience. No vending machines or hotel store. No in-room info on TV stations/local places to eat. Desk clerk unfamiliar with local restaurants, recommended places that were closed. Lobby closed, no one available for customers before 11am. Comfortable bed, pillows worn, lumpy, flat. These are such easy things to address and would make a big difference to guest experience.

Weekend Getaway

Stayed here for the weekend with friends. The rooms were spacious and clean. The little restaurant/bar was a huge plus and had live music Friday night. We will definitely stay here next time we are in the area.

I had tried to get help with the ac but no one ever came to look at it. It was so warm in there it woke me up around 2am, went to go see if there was someone in the lobby but it was closed so couldn't get to sleep the rest of the night. Other complaints, the carpeted stairs were obviously not vacuumed recently, the bathroom did not smell clean and the ramp to the left of the lobby door, the board was messed up and liable to cause someone to get hurt. I'm not one to complain but this was not a nice place to stay as advertised. I tried emailing the lodge afterwards twice but never received a response from them, very disappointing.

I had a late check in that went ok. Its an older building typical old cabin style comparable to some of the other hotels in the area. My room however, smells musky. The lock on the window(ground floor) is broken. Had to put a chair against the blinds so nobody could see in, since they fly out when the air from window unit comes on. There was a lot of traffic with utility vehicles by my creek side window that was very loud at night, and it seems that maybe employee parking and its not even a parking lot, they were literally by my window. A little creepy. The tv didn’t work, customer service said he would send someone to change it or swap rooms, no one did anything about the tv, had to manually turn it on and and change channels from the screen( it's the remote that didn't work) should be an easy fix right? But nobody even bothered to check on it. And the least of the issues, there aren't any hair dryers if you have a longer stay. Definitely was not impressed with this place.
