This was the most unfriendly hotel where I’ve ever stayed. The parking lot and the area surrounding the property have loud speakers blaring party music from lightpoles and even from rocks. That‘s a shame because it‘s a beautiful natural area on a lake nestled in mountains. We set up for a family happy hour outside around a firepit. An employee, observing us on the cameras located everywhere, hurried up and told us that we couldn’t bring liquor on the property and had to take it to the car. He followed me to the lobby door and watched me go to my car. The bed felt like a board. We couldn‘t sleep anyway because we had a choice between having the window open with HVACs screeching below us or loud air conditioning going off and on. The door provided a night light because there was a crack all around it with light and sounds going out and coming in. Never again. We far more enjoyed the campground next door where we slept in the back of our car on a spacious site surrounded by trees on the lake.

The grounds and surrounding areas are simply gorgeous. The building was built with care to both blend as well in the surrounding and takes advantage of the region

Rocky gap has a lot to offer as far as comfort and entertainment, but it is a resort in the mountains. It almost feels like being on a cruise ship with only a few things to do, I.e. gambling, comedy shows and some live music. We love the out doors. They have a beautiful park and beach area to enjoy during warmer weather. We hiked the trail around the lake and loved it! We also ventured out to Cumberland where we enjoyed the town and the Paw Paw tunnel trail. On our third day of stay, we went to Frostberg and road the random bikes on the train tracks. Very Fun! In all I’d say our stay was awesome. The food wasn’t that great, but as we explored we found that there are many delicious and wonderful things outside of the resort. The service and accommodations are fantastic though. I highly recommend!

The property was absolutely amazing and beautiful. The downside was the mini toilet that was 12-15in from the floor. There is no way a senior let alone an adult can get up without problems. Not user friendly
