This two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium is a Destin vacation delight! When you stay at Sterling Shores 516, you will likely be spending a lot of time on the Balcony soaking up the Florida warmth and sunshine, because the views are beyond compare! Great location but no heated pool or hot tub

This was a great location but we were very disappointed that the 2 pools they had were not heated and they have no hot tub. Destin can be chilly so that is a must for our family. They have a wonderful big pool that no one swam in for the week we were there. If only they would have heated it it would have been a different story. Our room was spacious but they did not do a good job of cleaning it before we got there.

Excellent Location

Gorgeous view and excellent location. Not directly on the beach, but very close and easy to get to with the resorts personal walkway. The large pool is not heated, so very cold in March. Smaller pool was heated. The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. Several gas grills available by the pool for use. The unit was as described. Could use a good deep cleaning. Had a wagon for the beach but one of the wheels was broken. I had seen that in an earlier review and assumed it would have been addressed. The balcony table was breaking apart and is in definite need of being replaced. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked. Bathrooms are supplied with bath towels and travel size supplies. Bedrooms have no views. 2nd bedroom has bunkbed which could use some repair. The property management company sent us the codes for the main gate and when we arrived we couldn’t get in. Luckily there was a gentlemen behind us and he gave me a code to get in. When I went to the front desk area I explained that I was given this code and was told they had changed the gate code months ago. So not very happy with communication from the management company. Overall the unit fulfilled our needs and does have an awesome view.

Great stay!

Second time staying in Destin and at Sterling Shores. Location is great! Perfect property for our family of 4. The setup was great. Only challenge was trying to adjust check out times, which was eventually resolved after calling the company direct. We will be back!

Property was descent, the issues we had were that there were only 2 pool access wrist bands instead of guaranteed 5. The help number could not get us anymore the entire stay, could not get in touch with management? Never called us back. After I sent an email, I got a response 2 days ago saying they could not get anyone. There was no tissue in the tissue box receptacles. The elevators work poorly and long waits due to only one working on our side. We were stuck in the elevator for at least 10 minutes yesterday with no air and it was so hot. My little one went into full blown panic and I almost passed out. Had to sit down in hall twice before I could get back to the room.

Not what I expected

Overrall, I would not stay here again. The condo has 3 sets of elevator and only one set worked which was a major inconvenience for July 4th weekend. If you had a large load you waited 20 plus minutes. Most of the time you had to take the stairs and the condo was on the 5th floor. Not an easy task with kids and lugging beach stuff/ice chest. The condo did not have the bands needed to get to the pool as we only received 3 (for a party of 4) and one was broken. It also is not appear any how to get to the beach which is a hike. The water is nice at Destin and having the restaurant The Back Porch being so close was convenient. You can see the gulf from the condo at a distance but that is it. The condo does not have an ice maker and the bathrooms could use some updating.

Perfect location, Needs Updates

The view and property is gorgeous! The private beach access was great and the pool was a hit! We loved being so close to so many great restaurants. The condo needs some work, it is definitely time to get some new rugs, they were filthy when we arrived, and the sofa and chair are filled with stains. The vents are black and dusty. And some of the balcony furniture was coming apart, the chairs were not usable. But overall the rest of the condo was clean and we were happy with our stay!

Wonderful property, condo could’ve been cleaner

We have stayed in the pent house before so we chose to stay at Sterling Shores again, just in a two bedroom condo (#516). The bunk bedroom was very very small with no closet, but it did have its own bathroom and tv. The king bedroom was a decent size with a closet and big bathroom, but the bed was very noisy and sounded like it could break any moment). Kitchen and living room was a good size and dishes were nice and clean. Great view for sure! We love the location with a short walk to the beach and large pool to enjoy. Overall we enjoyed our stay but it could’ve been cleaner (ex. dirty baseboards, sand to greet us at the front door, a napkin stuck between the sheets…???…I didn’t see that until I pulled off the linens right before we left). Also the sliding glass door wouldn’t lock.

The condo was clean, and great view. Everything was as expected. Master bed was very comfortable. The bunk beds in the other room were not very sturdy, especially the top bunk. A/C made a weird noise when it was running. We would stay at this property again but not this condo. Preferred to have no bunk beds.

The amenities and condo were in great condition. Truly felt like home for the week, the kids really enjoyed the bunk beds and their own bathroom. The master was spacious and the jet tub was a nice treat. Kids enjoyed both pools that are present on the premises, enjoyed night swimming wish they could extend the swim hours. Really appreciated the gates with the codes to get in and out, definitely felt safe and could be at ease with my kids. Private walk to the beach and private wash station when returning that was great to have. Tiki bar by one of the pools which made it enjoyable for adults as well. Walking distance to the restaurant The Back Porch, definitely recommend going there to eat dinner one night with the family. Overall it was a good experience and we will be booking with Sterling chores again in the future due to our stay and with it being right in the center of everything that a family could enjoy we didn’t have to really travel far to go eat Fudpuckers, The Traci and the harbor walk were a short drive for us due to the heavy traffic which we enjoyed. I would recommend staying here with your family or friends.
