****NOTE: THE QUOTED PRICING IS FOR THE MAIN SIDE OF THE BARN (5 Beds - 10 Guests). LOCKOFF SIDE OF THE BARN (2 Beds - 4 Guests) REQUIRES AN ADDITIONAL FEE. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION.

Post Built in 1860, this AIR CONDITIONED, Amish-built barn was constructed in north central Indiana just before the outbreak of the Civil War. This excellent example of early hand-hewn post & beam construction was carefully dismantled and transported to the Durango area, where it was rebuilt exactly as it originally stood. Located just seven miles outside of Durango, the 'barn' includes a 30-foot high living-dining-kitchen area, one King and five Queen beds, four bathrooms, plenty of parking, and wonderful views (see north porch view above). Furnished with antiques from the Colonial to Civil War period, the barn is trimmed out with 160-year-old wood from the barn. Situated on 11 acres, there is plenty of room to walk the property, enjoy the views, and enjoy all that Durango has to offer. The Barn is AIR CONDITIONED!

The Barn has a king in the master bedroom, a king in the second bedroom, a queen in the third bedroom, and 2 queens in the loft. Enjoy a full kitchen with plenty of seating and a comfortable living room. Sleeps 10 total in the main house. There is a "lockoff" (Sleeps an additional 4 - for a total of 14) available that can be connected at an additional cost. This would add another master suite with a master bath and a king bed, a loft area with a sleeper sofa, and one more bathroom. Also, this would give you an additional full kitchen and living area. Perfect for large families that want to spread out. Rent the main side of the barn, or both; Each side is priced separately. The "lockoff" cannot be rented by itself. Please inquire for a full description of the South side and prices.

Also available for families . . . a high chair, pac-n-play, and misc. baby items!

Master Bedroom - King Bed (main level)
2nd Bedroom - King Bed (main level)
3rd Bedroom - Queen Bed (2nd level)

Excellent Retreat Just Outside of Durango

We occupied both Curry Barn and the extension. Our group of seven was comfortable with private or semi-private sleeping areas, enough bathrooms, excellent common areas, and a fantastic setting. Lots of parking, too. Recommend the barn for groups of 5, and barn plus extension for 7 people. Hope to return.

Amazing

Our family had a great time staying at the Curry Barn. Plenty of room for everyone and the views were awesome. Deer frequently came around in the morning and evening. The place was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We would highly recommend the Curry Barn and the property management company was great to work with. We would stay there again!

Unique, comfortable lodging, great view

We have stayed at the Curry Barn 4 times, so obviously we like it! The furnishings are very comfortable, and the barn was fully stocked with everything you might need. It has A/C now, but we did not need to use it since the weather was so nice. The view is great, and we saw deer daily in the yard. I only wish it had a bigger deck so we could spend more time outdoors, then it would be perfection!

Beautiful place, difficult to find.

The Barn was a great place to stay, very convenient to the wedding venue we were attending, as well as the routes to Farmington and Durango. The place was beautiful surrounded with the lovely Colorado outdoors, complete with deer and even a bobcat. We have never stayed in a VRBO that had so many amenities present. Beautifully and very thoughtfully equipped (For instance, in the past we even had to buy a can opener at one place.) There were two points of difficulty, one being it was hard to find when we arrived. The address sign on the drive in was difficult to see, so it took a long time to find. Thankfully, we arrived in daylight. It would have been almost impossible to see in the dark. The second was that there were two lock boxes for the keys, which was confusing at first. The shed they were in was also dark and had no flashlight, as instructed, so seeing the code was difficult. Otherwise we truly enjoyed the stay. Thank you.

Beautiful house, great country location

Beautiful setting, well-stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, bath items, etc. We were an older bunch( only two under 80) and the stairs to the loft were a challenge

Sibling Iron Butt

Every year my husband and I join my brothers and their wives for a motorcycle ride. (No, we don't go the distance of a true Iron butt, just enjoy daily rides on curvy roads). This restored barn was incredible to come home to each night. Very charming/ welcoming. The attention to detail amazing. We totally enjoyed our visit!

Rustic and Unique

There’s something idyllic about a converted barn set in the beautiful Durango countryside. This property definitely appeals to those who are looking for a rustic and unique place to stay, just outside of downtown Durango. Great plot of land, large indoor space with plenty of room and sleeping options, close to town, beautiful views.

Perfect Family Gathering Place

The Curry Barn is beautiful! The location is perfect to take in all that Durango and the surrounding area has to offer and the setting is stunning. Our group consisted of 8 adults (me and my husband, my parents, daughter and her husband, daughter and her boyfriend). There was enough room for everyone.

Family getaway!!

My entire family was impressed with this beautiful farm house from the moment we walked in. There was plenty of space for 10 people. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare home cooked meals. The temperature was perfect. The water softener and filtered water spout were a bonus. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home.

Perfect family getaway

Our family had a wonderful stay. The house was great. Due to covid, we cooked at home every night. The kitchen was well stocked. The only bummer was the heat. Our week happen to be the hottest week of the year and there is no AC. Opening windows at night cooled the house down. Installing screen doors would help a lot with cooling the house (we didn't want to keep the doors open because of the bugs). We loved seeing wildlife on the property - lots of deer, a fox and a coyote!

Away From the Maddening Crowd

Our fsmile of six had spacious accommodations and loved the open area around the barn. This location is a great place for family fun. We did have difficulty with the key lock box on arrival and departure. We had to leave the key on the box, not in it.

Hot and stinky

The property was nice for our friend reunion. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning. One evening at 8pm it was 85+ degrees INSIDE! The water in the home smelled and tasted like sewer. You MUST bring bottled water and your own ice. The stench was terrible and the soft water was slippery and dangerous. Trash had not been removed from the previous clients and the grill ran out of fuel with an empty back up canister. For the price it was very disappointing.

Perfect place for our Sister's Trip

Each year we go on a sister's trip and this year we decided to visit Durango, CO. We always like to stay in a house so we can do our own cooking, have a place to visit and play cards! We found the Curry Barn easily online and chose it because it had just the right amount of space we needed. We absolutely LOVED the Barn! It was very clean and had everything we needed especially in the kitchen. The views were absolutely gorgeous. Very close to town and yet out far enough to be quiet. We had some issues with the wi-fi and the problem was fixed very quickly and professionally. Easy to find. If we ever come back to Durango we will definitely stay here again. LOVED IT!!!
