Lone Star Cabin No. 4 ~ Texas Hill Country

The Lone Star Cabin 4 is located just 5 1/2 miles east of downtown Fredericksburg on US Hwy 290 right in the middle of a number of special destination points. The Cabin is approximately 1,100 square feet in size. The floor plan includes a living room, full size kitchen and appliances and kitchenware, two bedrooms (Two King beds) with closets, and two bathrooms. There is a large TV in the living room. The Cabin has large covered front and back porches with rocking chairs, Weber gas grill, and views overlooking the hill country for your relaxation and enjoyment.

Here are some of the interesting destination points surrounding the Cabin -

1. Soon you will know why Fredericksburg is one of the most popular getaways in Texas. There is so much to do and see in our historic town! Fredericksburg is nestled in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas; right in the heart of the Texas Wine Country, with a vibrant art and live music scene that will dazzle and inspire! The Chamber of Commerce takes great pride in providing visitors with the travel information necessary to plan a rich and exciting holiday vacation or weekend getaway. Visit the Chamber's website to get all the details of your visit to Fredericksburg.
2. Six wineries within 1,000 feet of the Lone Star Cabin and too many more to count and visit just a few more miles going east on US Hwy 290 toward Stonewall, Texas and the surrounding area. The new Altstadt Brewery is located directly across the highway from the property as well. This is a great place to grab lunch or dinner and a cold frosty brew from the tap.
3. The famous Wild Seed Farm is just 2 miles east of the Cabin on US Hwy 290. The farm features beautiful gardens and fields of wildflowers. There is also a gift shop and patio. You can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer as well as indulge in homemade ice cream or other snacks.
4. Luckenbach, Texas is just 5 miles from the Cabin on RR 1376 which features their historic Post Office, General Store, band stand and dance hall. Music is such a huge part of the Hill Country culture that one whole town is dedicated to it. Take a spin in its dance hall under rafters draped in white lights. If you want a more low-key, under-the-radar setting, head over to Alamo Springs Café, which is, as the owners' say, "inconveniently located in the middle of nowhere." Dig into hand-battered onion rings and juicy fat burgers that are beer-bottle tall with such toppings as jalapeno chilies and grilled onions. On weekends, local bands play on the outdoor stage. Enjoy country western music each weekend. The historic town of Sisterdale is just another 15 miles down the road with a great winery, dance hall and bar. Just the drive to Sisterdale is breathtaking.
5. Fredericksburg Trade Days in located 3 miles east of the Cabin on US Hwy 290. They are open on the third weekend of each month and features vendors and Texas crafts of all types and fashions. Country music plays each day in their famous Beer Barn.
6. Wal Mart is located just 3 miles west of the Cabin on US Hwy 290 back towards downtown where you can replenish your supplies or pick up some last minute shopping items for your trip.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private patio. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Perfect Getaway
The cabin was perfect in every way. Loved that two couples could stay in the home and have a common area two bedrooms that were the same size with their own bathroom. Loved how close we were to town and that the cabin had many options close by to eat and enjoy drinks. Definitely will choose to stay here in the future. Thank you for sharing the great accommodations.

We LOVED this place!
Clean, comfortable, beautiful cabin! It was at the back of the property so it was nice and quiet among the other (widely spaced) cabins. Both bedrooms identical so no issues on who gets the "better" one! Bathrooms were very luxurious (although a few more towels would be nice). Loved that a fabulous gift shop was at the front entrance of the property. We enjoyed the front porch rockers and appreciated front door parking as well! Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others as well. About 6 miles outside of Main Street stores area which was nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of that area when ready for winding down for the evening. Truly a great experience for us this weekend!

Great Location, Be Mindful of Amenities
Fantastic layout for 2 couples, with 2 almost-identical masters off the kitchen/living area. Bathrooms are really nice-big showers, double sinks. Bedrooms are good sized with comfortable beds. Location is great, especially for wine country activities. The little shop on the property is fantastic! The owners/managers were very responsive throughout the process and also when we had an issue, and they were very pleasant and good to work with. I would echo a couple of earlier reviews regarding some of the amenities-just for awareness so potential renters have a clear view of what to expect. We found the kitchen to be quite minimally equipped compared to other rentals we have stayed in; there is no garbage disposal and also no dishwasher (that was a little surprising, just because we would assume a property that looks as nice as this would have one); bare minimum number of towels; very minimal bedding - literally 1 pillow per person & a few throw pillows, thin coverlets on the beds with no extra blankets for people who might get cold. This seemed especially odd, I've never been in a rental property like this where there were literally no extra linens or pillows at all. Overall we found the property a bit of an enigma-nicely built, super cute, great location, fantastic porches, lovely bathrooms; but then lacking basic things we would expect from a property like this, even if billed as a 'cabin.' For those who don't mind missing some of those basics it's a very nice option.

Relaxing trip
Property was well kept. The unit was very clean. We had everything we needed for our stay. Just a few minutes away from Fredericksburg but close enough to enjoy all of what Fredericksburg has to offer. Really liked being near so many wineries. At the end of the day, we enjoyed sitting out on the front and back porch. Very quiet and relaxing. Host was very responsive with questions we had prior to our visit. Would definitely stay there again!

Peach Season 2024
The cabin was a perfect for couple of feiends. Getting to the location using Apple Maps was simply breathtaking! It's a beautiful way to see the hills. We were a party of two couples. King sized beds in both rooms that offered plenty of privacy. Each suite had its in own en suite bathroom with dual vanity sinks. Large walk-in shower was excellent with a high pressure shower. We actually utilized all of the home as we came for peach season and made a peach pie. The kitchen had what we needed while we brought up the items we needed for pie making. We had a welcome view of wild life with exotics right behind us. The tv allowed us to use our app memberships to watch a movie although the house does come equipped with satellite tv. HEB was about a 10 min drive away. Main St about 10 min, too. We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Getaway!
The cabin was lovely and well laid out. It was in the perfect location - Luckenbach nearby and even closer - Wildseed Farms. Just a short drive into town and several great wineries in the immediate area. Check-in and out a piece of cake and the owner kindly let us extend our stay by one day. We were having too much fun and it was so comfortable, we weren't ready to go home! We both highly recommend it.

Birthday Getaway
We booked a weekend getaway for me and my bestie’s birthdays, with our husbands. When we arrived, it looked even more beautiful than the pictures! The wineries on the property entrance were amazing, as well as the Altstadt Brewery LITERALLY across the street, which was also an amazing experience! All in all, I’d give it a 11 out 10!

Perfect getaway with friends
This property was a perfect landing spot for us and another couple for a quick getaway. It's in a good location to a bunch of wineries but not in the bustle of the Main Street traffic. We also enjoyed an evening at the dance hall in Luckenbach which is about a 10-15 minute drive from cabin. The back porch was a perfect place to unwind with the fire pit in the evening and to have coffee in the morning while the cows grazed in the meadow behind the cabin. Steaks on the grill and wine from local winery made for a great evening before heading home the next morning.

Lone Star Cabin #4 - Excellent Overall
Our first trip to Texas Hill Country and this "cabin" location couldn't have been more perfect. Far away enough from downtown to be quiet and peaceful, but close enough to everything important; restaurants, museums, wineries, scenic drives, Walmart and shopping. The cabin is more of a "cottage", beautifully decorated and well stocked. We especially enjoyed lounging on the back porch with the propane firepit and watching the sunset from the front porch rocking chairs. The walk in showers are massive and the furniture overall very comfortable. They even have "special needs" items like a shower seat and step stools to access the higher level beds. Overall, a wonderful experience and Joseph answered any questions promptly and completely. Highly recommend! Retired Couple from Colorado

Except for a glitch with our original cabin causing us to spend a night in a different cabin, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 2 master suites, full kitchen, and fire table and grill on the back deck allowed us to cook most meals and enjoy the scenery in the evenings.
