The Finch House is a beautiful home designed with you in mind. From the moment you walk through the door, the open floor plan and modern conveniences will make you feel right at home. Distinctly appointed, this home offers everything you will need to make your stay all you'd hoped it would be. As you enter, the open kitchen overlooks the dining and living area with a view of the 21 foot tall stone wood burning fireplace. Off the living area, but close to the action, is a cozy sitting and entertainment area, that has a wall mounted 55" smart tv with Xfinity cable. The first floor master offers a king bed, dresser, and night stands. The master bathroom and walk-in closet are located off the bedroom separated by a beautiful barn door. The first floor also has easy access to a powder room, open laundry area and closet. The second floor contains two large bedrooms with a shared bath. The bedroom, with a queen bed, sits overlooking the creek and also contains barn style doors that can be opened to look down on the living area and fireplace or closed for privacy. The second bedroom contains a twin over full bunk and a loft style bunk bed. Decorated in a National Park outdoor theme, this room is designed to get the adventurer juices flowing for both young and old. Continue down the open hall past large old barn beams to the open loft that has views of the creek, living room, and dining area. The loft has a wall mounted 55" smart television, couch and reclining chairs. This home contains plenty of board games, books, and puzzles for all ages.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a DVD player is provided for your entertainment.

Beautiful, charming house will not disappoint!

I stayed for a weekend with friends (middle-aged women), and we were all in love with this charming, beautifully decorated, thoughtfully appointed, and comfortable house. Great location - easy to find and close to the town center. Nice spaces to sit outside for coffee in the morning or drinks in the evening around a fire to enjoy the sounds of the creek. Inside spaces are exactly as pictured, and the house lacks for nothing - plenty of kitchen supplies, towels, games, books, and even a diffuser with the blow dryer, which was much appreciated by those of us with curls :). Comfortable beds, too. Communication with the hosts was excellent. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Family Ski Weekend

The home was perfect. Picture perfect view out the dining room off the patio of a babbling brook, which was so nice to listen too. Very clean, beautiful decorating, comfortable beds, lots of room, and everything you need to home cook meals. The location was great, a short scenic ride to Laural Mountain if you are staying there to ski.

We spent 3 nights at this beautifully remodeled house. It was easy to find and was exactly as the VRBO ad said. Lots of space for everyone, it was clean, games for the kids, lots of room for entertaining. We will be back. Thankyou for making our trip a 5 Star trip and we can't wait to go back.

Fabulous Fall Getaway!

As always the Finch House was an amazing stay! From the open floor plan that provides ample space for our family to spread out and relax, to the comfortable beds, to the large dining table that allowed us to enjoy a meal together Finch House has it all. Great stay

We had a wonderful time at John and Kathleen's home. The house was comfortable with lots of seating, plenty of kitchen equipment, a great layout and lots of natural light. Our favorite part was the outdoor space and the covered seating looking out over the creek. The location was an easy drive into town. Overall I would recommend this home for a relaxing family getaway.

Live Laugh Love Weekend Away

We stayed here for a relaxing bachelorette weekend away from everything. The backyard was gorgeous and we had so much fun on the creek, having campfires, and enjoying the outdoor patio. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms where we did not have any issues. Highly recommend.

New Years Celebration

This property was one of the nicest properties we have rented. It is very well stocked with just about everything you’d need. The owners have done a great job with the decor and making it feel very comfortable. Also, the owners were very responsive with any questions we had prior to our arrival. We were 6 adults together for the weekend to celebrate ringing in 2024. The accommodations were great. You could have more people and be very comfortable. We look forward to possibly renting the property again. We had a great time!

Awesome house

Beautiful home with awesome outdoor areas to relax or visit with loved ones. Our children loved the bunk beds and all the little touches that made them feel like they had their very own area. Three couples have been traveling together for over 40 years this cabin / house ranks as the best we ever had for a good price ! It has it all there is nothing I can name that it is lacking and has a great host that responds quickly to any questions or problems his only fault is he is not an Ohio state fan .

Labor Day Weekend 2023

This was our first get-away with our adult children, their spouses and our grandchildren. We were all THRILLED with the accommodations! The home is clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The home is in a peaceful setting. It so relaxing to sit by a trickling creek! We enjoyed a fire in the firepit on Saturday evening. On Sunday we went to Idlewild for several hours in the morning. The home is about 15 minutes from Idlewild, so we were able to give the children naps in the afternoon and then return to the park late afternoon and evening. Our grandson loved playing in the creek even though the water was cold. We took a few toy boats along, fishing line and a fishing pole. He enjoyed releasing the boat and then reeling it in! The grandchildren enjoyed building with the Lincoln logs. There are quality adult and children's books available. John & Kathleen are great communicators! I will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.

Beautiful Inside & Out

Everything about this home is amazing! Such a warm welcome and all amenities were wonderful. We especially enjoyed our time outside right by the stream. Relaxing and comfy seating. The interior design is gorgeous and warm. Simply everything you could ask for! We were there to visit family in Ligonier and the location of this home was perfect! Just a quick drive into town and lots to do and see there. From the first communication with the owner to the check-in and check-out process, John was quick to answer my questions and to respond. This home is a rare find and we appreciated all that was done to make us feel welcome. We will definitely return!

An Idyllic Retreat in Ligonier

This home exceeded all of our expectations. It was impeccably clean with beautiful furnishings with a well stocked kitchen. The serene creek in the backyard adds to the tranquil setting. The convenience of being close to downtown Ligonier and Idlewild Park was a bonus. They also had a wide variety of games and toys available for bad weather days. I highly recommend this home for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

Our group ranged in age from 12 to 82. The Finch House is beautiful, both inside and out. I loved all the different windows. The kitchen is fully stocked, plenty of towels and paper products, and lots of games for rainy day entertainment. Having the firewood available was a real plus. I (being the 82 year old) enjoyed sitting in the glider chair reading and watching the younger ones playing in the beautiful stream running behind the house right outside the back door. If we had a question we had a response within minutes. We have been vacationing thru VRBO for several years and this is, by far, one of our favorites. Looking forward to our next visit. Beautiful Ligonier

Gorgeous and convenient setting just a few miles from downtown ligonier. The house was so nicely decorated ….. the adults appreciated that and at the same time kid friendly. It was great to have all the essentials supplied…soaps, detergents, paper products. And an abundance of towels. We had a ton of activities to do such as Idlewild, Storybook Forest, hiking, shopping, and just playing in the creek!

Best property ever!

We have rented several properties over the past few years and, by far, this was the best! It's in a beautiful setting and the house is simple and beautiful! The renter's have thought of everything...fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, great selection of TV options, and an outside area that knocked our socks off! This home oozes hospitality! It's close to Fallingwater and the Flight 93 Memorial. Really lovely! The owners were very responsive to inquiries and accommodating!
