The hotel was not as good as it appeared on the Expedia website. The room was very tired and a bit knackered and the bathroom was old and needed updating. As we have gold membership, it stated that we would get 20% off the food in the restaurant and at the spa.... the restaurant only served breakfast (which was limited and often ran out of food options) and there wasn't a spa on site. The staff were the only really good thing about the hotel. All of them were polite and friendly and really helpful. The Expedia write-up about this hotel was mis-leading. The location of this hotel was good; right in the heart of the Old Quarter. Overall though, we were disappointed with this hotel.

Ich hatte einen großartigen Aufenthalt im Hanoi Royal Palace Hotel 2. Das Zimmer war sauber, gemütlich und gut ausgestattet. Das Frühstück war lecker und die Lage ist ideal, um die Altstadt zu erkunden. Besonderen Dank an Mimi – sie war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und hat meinen Aufenthalt wirklich angenehmer gemacht. The location is great, lots of nearby restaurants, shopping, walking distance to attractions and things to do. But there are also hotels nearby that also share this location. Staff is nice, helpful, and courteous. They always great with a smile, and helpful with things to do. They also understood English to communicate. Many things were subpar, that should be addressed: - only one room key available, not convenient - renovations looked messy, rushed, unprofessional - elevator setup is weird, you take it to your floor, then go down half a flight to get to your room. Also, you need to go up 2 flight of stairs before getting to the elevator - bathrooms needs work, shower looked unclean and full of grout to patch where they miscut the tiles - AC and TV remotes did not work upon entering room, luckily the staff helped to fix that ASAP Overall, if you do not plan to stay in the room much, just to sleep and leave your things, this hotel will be good for you.
