Negative experience
Arrived around midnight after flying in. The transfer was speedy and great. On arriving at the hotel, things started to go down hill. Despite doing the online check in, i hadnt been sent the details i needed to pick the key up from the machines. Went to the reception desk and was issued a room key. We got to the room and walked in on other guests! We were then reallocated to a different room and ordered room service as we hadnt eaten. All that is available at that time is pizza, which was fine but overpriced for what it was. But we were told there would be a 40min wait time. 15 mins after the expected 40mins we tried to contact reception via the inroom phone as it hadnt arrived. The phone didint work... food eventually showed up around 20mins after the time we were told without an apology. Staff were friendly and the room was clean but overall, very disappointed with our stay.

We booked early check in and lunch with wine because I (from Scotland) was meeting my friend (from Vermont US) and we were going out to Madeira the next day. The room was great. The lunch was excellent, and Mike, who was in charge of the restaurant/bar, was friendly and accommodating.

We had to change rooms as heating was not working in addition to water being warm but not hot enough to have a nice relaxing bath - when we went to our second room same issue again but too tired to start asking for another room change when I had to be up for the 5a shuttle - so ended up taking a short warm shower - a very disappointing stay

Disappointing stay in an old tatty room - chair faded and bathroom not too clean. The door couldn’t close in the bathroom. Black mould around the window despite being end of summer. Lift filthy and terrible floor - carpets not clean in the corridors. Breakfast not great a few pieces of fresh fruit with tinned fruit no other healthy choices. The chairs are worn and not clean. I don’t usually submit reviews but really felt that this experience warranted it as my husband has had better experiences here. The room was at the back of the hotel clearly more run down than other rooms maybe at the front.

Extremely poor service in restaurant. It was almost closing time and I know the staff would want to pack in but it is an airport hotel and I am sure it isn’t the first time that a hungry traveller needed food before bed. Rude and discourteous. The very first time in my life that I have not tipped a server.

I love staying in this hotel prior to an early morning g flight from Manchester airport. It is so easy to get to and a complimentary reliable shuttle takes you the two minute drive to the terminal. (You can walk there too as it is so close). The beds are very comfy and there is a bar and restaurant to get your holiday off to a good start.

Would never stay sgain.
Hair on bathroom floor. Although there was sign on shower suggesting allowing time for temp to stabilise- this was difficult to achieve on shower and hand basin. Turning one way or other did not give consistent change in temp. After thinking shower was stabilised it still suddenly became very hot and then colder. Lot of wasted hot water and potentially dangerous I was there for 2nights and hung my ‘please refresh’ sign on door. Nothing happened. By mid afternoon I found a housekeeping person in another corridor and she agreed to give a toilet roll and T- bags. There was no information in the room on how to contact reception ( which was her original suggestion)- even using the QR code to access hotel info - there was a lot of blurb but couldn’t find receptions no and it wasn’t marked on phone. As I was feeling unwell this made things quite difficult. Didn’t seem to be much effciency or sense of service within the hotel. However the shuttle bus drivers were really great- helpful and cheerful. Worst 4star hotel experience.
