I would feel safer at the Bates Motel than this place. I've traveled the world and stayed in some questionable places but I have never been this frightened or verbally attacked, like I was by the owners of this place. The owners, were verbally abusive and not willing to admit fault or apologize for violating our privacy.
When my child and I left the room in the morning, we made sure to put the placard on the outside of the door, stating that no service was needed. I double checked because one of my siblings had stayed there and had their room entered too. When we came back, the placard wasn't on the door and it was obvious someone had been in the room. It was a very frightening experience and we felt violated. I went to speak to the owner, and she said to me, "Maybe you didn't put the do not disturb sign on the door". I told her I double checked because the same thing happened to my sibling. She stated her husband found one in the parking lot. Then she said the cleaner had to go in the rooms. She full of excuses but not apologetic at all. I was dismayed at her lack of compassion and walked away from her. She followed me out of the office, yelling at me in the parking lot. I was terrified by her behavior. My child and I did not feel safe there and booked a room elsewhere. When I went to get a refund for the next night I had booked, they called the police. Not worth the terror and fear just because it's cheap. The beds are old and horrible too.
