Always on the lookout for that next big, fat adventure? The wider South Gyeongsang region has some incredible things to see and do as well. Don't even think of going home without checking out some of the region's incredible coastal plains, forests and rivers. Ruins, traditional villages and old towns are also worth a look around. More active travellers can also try their hand at popular regional activities like mountain climbing and hiking.

Caviar or corn chips? However you like to roll, you're certain to enjoy a trip to Daegu, 40 kilometres away. With Sun Sports Plaza and Dacos Bowlingjang to check out, you're not gonna be bored. Daegu hotels are the Novotel Ambassador Daegu and Crystal. Or, you could stay in Namwon, 75 kilometres to the southwest of Kugir-am, where you can choose from the Chunwangbong Pension and The Suites Hotel Namwon. Namwon Recreational Forest and the Namwon National Gugak Center are just some of the most popular places to explore while in Namwon.

You'll find some great visitor attractions in Jeonju. The Jeonju Zoo, the Sori Arts Center of Jeolla and Miseong Bowling Jang are up there with the best. This regional centre can be found 90 kilometres west of Kugir-am and has a population of 700,000. The Hanji Museum and the Jeonju Korean Traditional Wine Museum are a couple more attractions which are sure to offer up some photo ops.
