I booked a deluxe double room and there was absolutely nothing “deluxe” about the room I was given. It felt like a cheap motel room, a far cry from the deluxe king room I remember from my previous stay, which had a mini kitchenette and a cozy, cabin-like feel. This room didn’t come close to that standard.
What really made the experience unbearable, though, was the front desk receptionist. I called ahead to request an early check-in at 12 PM on December 23rd, and while she said she’d put me on an early check-in list, she made it clear it wasn’t guaranteed. Fine, I understand policies. But when I arrived at 2 PM, I was told my room wasn’t ready and to come back at 3 PM.
What truly upset me was watching the guest ahead of me receive an early check-in without any issue. Then, just two minutes later, when I came back with my 2-year-old daughter to use the restroom, the room I was waiting for miraculously became available. To top it off, it was filthy, and she had the nerve to suggest I pay another $150 for an upgrade. Her attitude was dismissive and rude, as if she was on my case for no reason.
The whole experience left a bitter taste. The room wasn’t deluxe, the service was subpar, and I expected much better based on my previous stay. I will not stay here again in the future.
