Unfinished cell-like room but good shower.
Sadly our room was pretty much like a cell. Virtually no natural light, (a tiny window that required curtain to be kept shut cos faced all the cars parking) and the wall was painted with an under-coat but not completed. You do not expect the room to be mid renovation when you are not getting a discounted price. Seriously! I must say the shower is wonderful though.

Property was close to major road. Lake view was obstructed due to plants and road. Bed was very comfortable and contained both a shower and very deep bathtub. Unit had refrigerator, but no microwave or dishes/utensils like all the other rooms we stayed in for our 3 weeks in NZ. Coffee provided in the unit was instant.

Pros: the property is very close to the lake and within walking distance of the main Lake Tekapo area. Cons: check-in took a lot longer than it should have, and staff seemed rather blasé. Was expecting better customer service from its other reviews. Also worth noting - they have 2 washers and 2 dryers. Don’t do your laundry here though- they’re not maintained well. The dryer took over 2 hours to get anything dry.

Very small rooms
This is a beautiful resort next to a stunning lake. The downfall is that their regular hotel rooms are about the size of a king bed, and they are furnished with king beds, so there is absolutely NO room to maneuver. We joked that you had to step outside to change your mind. The property was in the process of updating their rooms, so there was a delay for our room. They comped us some drinks while we waited. Unfortunately, our room still smelled like new paint and we had to ask for another room. There was some issues with getting a new room, but we did. Same size, but no smell. We attempted to do laundry and even after 3 sessions in the dryer, our clothes were no where near dry, had to iron, blow dry, hang, and hope. It's a beautiful resort, and Aaron Ivory took great care of us, but they do still have some work to do.

Arrived early so we waited around for check in. Some guy arrived 15-20mins before check in and was given a room right away (same specs as our reservation). When i stood up i was told our room wasn’t ready before i even asked. When they finally gave us a key, we drove over to the room to find someone still cleaning (way past check in time). On top of that, the water heating wasnt working due to maintenance work which we werent told about at checkin. No proper heating in the room (in a ski town resort?!!!) and only one electric heater in the big room upstairs. Only smooth thing was check out. 500 swiss francs wasn’t worth it. I only expected the basics.

The food and location of the property was excellent, massive shoutout and thanks to Aaron for making the extra effort in the kitchen! When arriving in the room however, there was quite a bit of dirt and hair that wasn’t cleaned, additionally the saftey bar attaching the latch was not secure at all

Great location, just average experience.
The location is lovely, but for a resort like this the experience was poor. Arrived an hour after checkin time and our room was still not ready, and then when trying to get some cutlery to our room, was told this couldn't be done - I'd have to come to the restaurant and pick it up myself. Not an easy feat for someone with a knee injury.
